Paradise Inn by the Beach

I like it! everything was so good! clean room, nice view, parking

First, when I booked room it said I would receive complimentary bottle of wine but when I asked for it, all manager would say is "no". Then I also realized there was no phone in the room which caused me to have to deal with rude staff anytime I needed something. Secondly, the parking lot is a joke! The room was clean and fridge\microwave help to cut costs on food. The extremely short walk to the boardwalk was a major plus specially due to parking lot. Warning once you park, do not move! Overall, I'd probably reconsider before booking a room here again.

This hotel is pretty old, but the location is perfect. You can't get any closer to the Boardwalk so you save $12 that you would pay to park in the lot. The man working at the desk was really nice, too.

The MOTEL is close to everything, the price is the best you'll get for Santa Cruz, but of course you get what you pay for a run down place with a old furnace, a 1960's table fan for A/C, 50 Sq. Ft. (Tiny) room with a 1970's t.v., and bathroom that's been around since Tina Turner was with Ike..... Staff was friendly though once they take your money, the front counter guy is not very nice, plus the charge you for every little thing, if you wan't to leave your car there for 1 hour after you check out (take into account chech-in is not till 3PM) it will cost you $15.00, just not good business practice... If in Santa Cruz Make sure to visit Henry Cowell Redwood park, it is off the Chan!!! Holla Back Yo!!!

There were 3 people registering ahead of us. It took 30 mins. to get to us. I had to use the restroom, so they let us use the one in our room that was being cleaned. While my husband & I were trying to enjoy some private time at 9 a.m., 2 of the family employees were right outside our door having a conversation in a foreign language! After 20 mins., I finally, loudly said to my husband that I thought it pretty rude. They then finally left our area. Check out time was @ 11. At 5 mins. past 11 they were knocking on our door asking us to leave. These are new owners, & obviously they don't know how to have consideration for their tenants. We have stayed here for the last 5 years, but no longer will - unless things change.

Cramped room. No air conditioner. Cruddy decor. Noisy area. Good shower. Numerous TV channels. Refrigerator and microwave.

The only part of the motel that was good was the location. It was close to the boardwalk and pier. The rooms had peeling paint, chair that was stuffed in the half closet, bathtub had no handle except on the shower control and TV service was on and off. Windows had no screens and needed better locks. Overall, I would never go back to this place.

First I go to check in and the lady doesn't speak English, but she gives me my key. I go to the room and it is disgusting. It smells horrible like a locker room, the carpets are dirty and ripped up, and the T.V. doesn't work. I go into the bathroom and the $10.00 showerhead has a $4.00 roll of duct tape wrapped around it. Turn the shower on and most of the water is coming through the seams in the duct tape and not out of the head itself, so taking a shower was a tricky endeavor, with water going everywhere. It had obviously been this way for awhile since mold was growing. I go to use the bathroom sink and that faucet wasn't even bolted to the sink. At 10:00PM her husband comes to my room while I'm eating to tell me that I have to come to the office to finish checking in. So I leave my dinner to get cold to accommodate this jerk and it takes him about 20 minutes to check me in because he arguing with me and wants me to use a different credit card than the one I used to make my reservation. At check out he didn't even want to give me a receipt.

There was a condom wrapper and empty pill wrapper under the bed, nasty stains on the sheets. The man at the front desk said he wouldn't sleep in the bed but that we couldn't have our money back.
