Oceana Inn Santa Cruz

Did not spend much time in the room...only to sleep. Room was clean, bed was comfy, everything worked. Did not need bells and whistles and would not have used if they were there.

I was very dissatisfied with this hotel. Not only was the staff unfriendly but when I was walking to my car they came out of the office and just stared, I felt as if I was doing something wrong. They didn't inform me that there was a continental breakfast even. There was no information in the room about what the hotel offered or what around the city there was to do or see. Although it wasn't that expensive I stayed in a hotel 30$ cheaper the next night and all around it was MUCH better than Oceana Inn.

the oceana inn was a great stay, perfect location, doesnt get any better then 2 blocks to downtown and less then a mile to the beach. friendly staff, great heated pool, little breakfast in the morning and clean room which is hard to find now a days.

I paid $230+ for a roach motel. I was very disappointed to show up thinking I was purchasing a 'hotel room' and finding that I would be staying in a 'roach motel'. Since I am 8 months pregnant, I was looking for a comfortable and safe place to spend the night. :~( I normally don't pay for motels because the doors are located on the outside of the building, compromising security. Needless to say, I was not happy with the accommodations. When I went to the front desk to check out, there was another customer complaining about the accommodations. She also felt cheated that she paid such a large fee for such gross accommodations. The attending staff didn't have much concern for the woman's complaints and just blamed the woman, telling her she was manipulative....awkward... I would never stay there again.

The hotel was clean, staff was friendly, bed was large and comfy, and best of all, the shower worked. The only complaint was the room was non-smoking and smelled very bad of cigarettes.

Went to the Boardwalk, the beach, had some good food on Pacific Ave and shopping was great. The hotel was very clean and the staff is very courteous.

While all the amenities (refrigerator/microwave/TV) were there, everything a bit old/run down. Alarm clock radio didn't work; baby crib didn't work properly - sides kept coming down in the night. Thin towels. Thin walls.

This hotel is WORTHLESS ! STAY AWAY !

Plenty of parking, walk downtown, (long-ish) walk to the beach, mini fridge, affordable rates. Far enough from the beach not to be in the drunken party zone. It's not exactly the Ritz, but I can't think of anything to complain about except maybe the awfully creaky floorboards in the room above me.

This hotel was just what we expected, nothing fancy and just an average hotel room. The bad was that the room didn't have much natural sun light, also when we got to the parking lot there was a horrible sewer like smell that didn't go away. They should do an upgrade on their T.V's which was old and the colors went and came back, and they didn't have as many channels as other hotels. The good thing is that we had a good night sleep, not too noisy and the bed was comfortable. It was a couple of blocks away from downtown santa cruz and boardwalk.
