Family-owned motel is clean, simple and in the middle of everything
Ocean Pacific Lodge offers a value accommodation in the heart of laid-back Santa Cruz. The ocean and downtown are never more than a five-minute walk away. The wharf
Staff was in no hurry to check us in, and when we asked for extra coffee that staff person appeared to be bothered by our request (and then charged $1 for an extra K cup). Other than that, easy walk to the beach and wharf (which by the way is wonderful). Boardwalk was closed this time of year but that was OK, lots of other things to do in the area.

Lots of great restaurants and bars on the wharf. Wine tasting room at the end of the wharf was open late and a good value.

Disappointing
The check in process was delayed because the clerk could not find my reservation either under Orbitz or my name. I had to present my e-mail print out with the confirmation number before the clerk was able to locate my reservation.

I will stay there again, no question!
The Ocean Pacific Hotel was, in my humbled opinion, one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff was very courteous and helpful, the room was immaculate and the bed was heavenly! I especially loved all the pillows on the bed, I feel that is a real plus! I gave an overall rating of 4 stars because I wasn't able to book the room for a 2nd nite, but it really deserves all 5! I will definitely stay there again when the opportunity arises and I will absolutely recommend it to my family and friends!

Short drive from hotel
If you like the old style diners, try the Santa Cruz Diner on Ocean Street. It's got a juke box, great food, great service and a family atmosphere. My son attends UCSC and he turned me on to it, it's a good find! Enjoy!

Nice Stay
The room was ready when we arrived shortly after 3pm, the staff was friendly and helpful and the room was very comfortable. The location was great with walking distance to the warf and boardwalk and the downtown area in the opposite direction. Thanks for a great stay.

Great location
This hotel is in a great location. We were walking distance from the beach and several really great restaurants. The free breakfast gave us extra time in the morning too. It was better than the typical continental breakfast.
