Stayed for 2 nights to attend a wedding. The location was convenient, but the room was nothing to write home about. We stayed in a smoking room and it was obvious with burn holes in the carpet and the aroma of stale cigarettes. It was challenging to get an iron from the front desk. On day 2 we got locked out, our room key stopped working and we had to have the front desk reset it. probably won't stay there again.

This place is disgusting. The rating said it was 3 stars, more like negative 3 stars. I thought I would catch hepatitis or be attacked by one of the resident crack heads. If you value your life don't stay here.

not too good ,not too bad ...
we just stayed in the room for sleeping.the location is good,hotel is very close to the boardwalk so that is the best part,,,the hallway was very smelly,,we choosed the non smoking room but there was a strange smell so i left the balcony door open all night.

night is santa cruz
the heater in the room did not shut off at sixty degrees when set on it. We woke up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat at must of been at least 100 degrees. things smeared to the bath room walls, looks like a child must of wiped their hands on it after using the bath room.

I wouldn't choose this one again
The only good thing about this hotel was that it was walking distance to the Boardwalk. It had free parking too. But the rooms were so ugly! Dirty looking and small. I wouldn't stay here again.

decent place
this was my 3rd stay here. Kinda old and funky, but reasonably clean. Rooms have balcony with a nice view, but noisy street below. The towels were questionable but the bed was clean and comfortable. decent for the price and location.

Not Great Rooms, but Good Location
We walked in to a smelly room with an iron burn on the dirty carpet, a hair on one of the towels, and a used packet of shampoo in the shower that a maid did not see. Kind of gross, but we were just there to get ready, and sleep. It was in a Great location so that me and my boyfriend could just walk to downtown(10 min?) and get some yummy dinner and drinks. There was a cool balcony where we hung out and could see the boardwalk. Kind of noisy with the cars down below, but we didn't mind cause we were not in the room long. Definitely expensive for the cleanliness of the room though.

great location
The Ocean Gate Inn was in a good location it wasn't far from Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. It had a nice view. But it had a sour smell in there and the room had a ant problem they were all around the sink.

Das Hoteon liegt ca. 15 Minuten von Dowtown entfernt und ca. 10 Minuten bis zum Strand. - Sehr laut in der Nacht!!!
