Motel Santa Cruz

I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!!!!! We requested a nonsmoking room, but when we entered the room all u could smell was cigarette smoke. I asked the front desk if they had another room bcus my son has asthma and can't be around smoke, the rude front staff told me I was smelling paint and they couldn't change rooms. We bought xtra strength fabreeze, that didn't even help. We were right under the stairs were everyone came and hung out smoking and laughing. We will not be staying her ever, I suggest u make the same decision.... Boo on bad management, they didn't even provide breakfast like the website offers

Nothing too special, it's fine if you are there for one night and you need a place to crash and don't want to spend too much. The only complaint is we asked for a non-smoking room and they booked us in a smoking room.

THIS MOTEL IS VERY QUITE AND CLEAN. IT IS NEAR MOVIE THEATER, BOARDWALK, BEACH, FOOD AND SHOPPING. THATS WAHAT MAKES THIS PLACE GREAT TO STAY AT. THEY HAVE HI SPEED INTERNET TOO

The hotel clerk wanted to put us on the 3rd floor, even though the parking lot was practically empty, and we arrived around 8:15pm. She finally allowed us to stay on the 2nd floor, she said the 1st floor was for the smoking rooms. We asked for an extra towel, she finally gave us one. The room had only 1 hand towel, no bath towels, no bath mat, no coffee maker, and 1 small soap.

Other people that stayed at the motel were a bar crowd, which meant that about 2am it started to get pretty noisy. At one point the cops came to deal with some of the other motel guests. Our room was next to the stairs, which increased the noise level. The walls were paper thin so we could easily hear other conversations in other rooms, as well as other late night antics. Also the room wasn't very clean, the bathroom had mold, and the room smelled like cigarettes even though we had requested a non-smoking room. The location was good, near the boardwalk, and the people that worked at the motel were friendly, but given the lack of cleanliness and the late night antics, I wouldn't stay here again, nor recommend it to others.

My friends and I decided to stop for a night in Santa Cruz and stayed at this hotel. It was okay. We got a cornered room facing the front of the hotel and didn't mind. In fact, the room was big, spacious and clean. We were quite satisfied but then we soon come to realize the AC wasn't working so it was steamy hot but we opened the window so it was fine. The remote control wasn't working either but we weren't going to watch T.V anyways. The only major problem was the toilet! It would not flush and we had to plunge the toilet each time we wanted to use it. So horrible! Aside from that, it was about a good 10-15 minute walk to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk so if you're just looking for a quick place to stay for a night to enjoy the area then maybe sure it'll be okay to stay here but if it's more than a day and you're picky then I suggest not. Maybe we just got a bad room, who knows.

My aim was to find the cheapest motel in Santa cruz & this was it. You get what you pay for, period.

THIS PLACE SUCKS. It was in the worst part of Santa Cruz. They give you your towels when you check in and you take them to the room. For 80 bucks it was the worst place i have ever stayed.

Marginal in every way. We only got one towel!

The hotel was really dirty. Motel Santa Cruz is rite on ocean street and it is very laud. The beds were broken and the bathroom had a leak in it. I will not stay there again. There were no towels in the room and wen my friend went to ask for a towel, they didn't hav any left.
