Economical beach motel style between downtown and the pier
Knights Inn is a mid-city budget hotel in Santa Cruz, ideally located near the beach and within 1.5-miles of the downtown and historical business area. This hotel meets the needs of overnight guests who want to stay on budget but don't want to compromise a good location. Walk two blocks to the beach and famous Boardwalk or reach the downtown in minutes. Pets are permitted for a fee. UC Santa Cruz and the California Redwoods are nearby destinations.

Good hotel for the price!
We had a nice stay at Knight's Inn. The guy at the front desk was welcoming and pet friendly! The maid always did a great job and the grounds keeper was friendly and helpful. Overall, a good place to stay for such a low price. :)

average hotel
The hotel was ok, kind of run-down. Everything was a little older, cheaper quality, thin towels, few stains on the blankets. Continental breakfast was sliced Costco muffins - orange/apple juice machine was broken. Location was a little shady - not very well lit. OK place to stay just for a night.

Memory Lane...!
I had not been to Sta Cruz since the Beachboy's released "Little Surfer Girl". The Knight's Inn was perfect... just far enuff off the Boardwalk to avoid the hormone fueled late night rowdiness, yet a scant five minutes away if one wants to find a nice set of Levis to walk behind. Good access to Hwy 1 for the obligatory trip to Carmel and Laguna Seca too! Good value, complete w/a microwave and fridge, king bed, and nicely redone bathroom. Recommended!

friendry and cozy
It was nice stay. I use Knight Inn for short stay when I visit my daughter at UCSC. It is reasonable, clean and comfortable. Most of all the owner is very friendly to welcome us and we feel like at home. Other staff is very friendly, too.

reasonable and friendry
I have daughter at UCSZ, so I usually use Knights Inn for short stay when I visit her. It is quiet and comfortable and clean enough to rest my body from long drive. The owner guy is very friendly and very nice. Other staff was very friendly to talk to me and asked my daughter "How was the day"....I feel like at home. I will stay Knights Inn" when I visit my daughter again. I wish there are shampoo and Kleenex

this was only a one night stay...the decor was old but everything was clean for the price...the staff was very nice and informative...would stay again...

Close to beach, good price
Great price, nice staff, very close to beach and downtown within walking distance. rooms aren't to clean, but ok and fridge, ac, microwave and tv all worked fine.

Great trip
you get what you pay.... The motel location is great. Walking distance to boardwalk and to the beach. Surely would go back again but will stay in honeymoon suite :-)
