It was nice stay. I use Knight Inn for short stay when I visit my daughter at UCSC. It is reasonable, clean and comfortable. Most of all the owner is very friendly to welcome us and we feel like at home. Other staff is very friendly, too.

I have daughter at UCSZ, so I usually use Knights Inn for short stay when I visit her. It is quiet and comfortable and clean enough to rest my body from long drive. The owner guy is very friendly and very nice. Other staff was very friendly to talk to me and asked my daughter "How was the day"....I feel like at home. I will stay Knights Inn" when I visit my daughter again. I wish there are shampoo and Kleenex

Good value
We just needed a room for one night as we were in the area. This was fine for those purposes although it wasn't in the nicest of neighborhoods. The "continental breakfast" was kind of a joke, but there are some cute bagel shops and cafes nearby. I wouldn't recommend staying with your kids though. Anyway, if you're looking for a place where the room is good and you're close to Santa Cruz attractions but don't really need much else, stay here. If you're looking for more amenities or a nicer neighborhood around your hotel, look closer to downtonwn.

Lostboy Central
The hotel was great. Cant beat the price and it is right up the street from the Boardwalk. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Parking is a bit limited but the hotel offers on street parking and provides permits for it. I did not know what to expect after reading other reviews but the amenities are very satisfactory and I would definitely stay here again. I do have to include that the only bad thing about my room was that there was a huge crack at the bottom of the door that could possibly allow insects or something in although nothing did.

Short walk from hotel
The Boardwalk is great. I just knew it from the movie The Lostboys but it has a lot of history and great activities. There are several restaurants on the pier a short walk away including the one from the movie. The only disappointing thing was that the Boardwalk closed right as I arrived at 5pm. Their extended summer hours started the week after in mid-June. Still a great experience and the game room was open late. Do not miss the Laughing Sal.

Unexpected fee added at check-in
The location is very convenient to the Boardwalk. At check-in, I was told that I had to pay an additional $2.00 tax which [...]did not collect.

Pleasantly surprised
Went to Santa Cruz for a wedding and wanted a place close to the ceremony and reception which happen to be close to the boardwalk. Didnt want to pay a lot knowing I wasnt going to spend much time at the hotel. The hotel was in very close proximity to the boardwalk and downtown. Didnt have to get in my car once. Staff was very friendly and let me check in early. Room was inexpensive and comforatable.
