great location
We stayed in a small group of rooms detached from the main hotel. Walls were very thin (much moaning next door). Breakfast was skimpy.

The hotel staff were very nice. Early checkin was afforded. Room was small but very clean and ammenties were provided. The bed however was extremely uncomfortable as I could feel the springs coming through.

not what is advertised
hotel was mostly clean, but was not to standard of good hotels, and the money it cost. Rooms very small, and "ocean view" might have been better had the construction of new building not been in the way. The pictures make it look like a real ocean view, but it isn't. My sister and I checked in, w/ my son, who we were visiting, in tow. Had not been in room for more than a couple of minutes before hotel desk lady called to verify how many were staying, though this was clearly discussed prior to leaving office. Made us feel like we were in a much lower class hotel. Breakfast was ok, but we could have done that well at mini mart. We wont stay here again.

Santa Cruz Beach Hotel
The hotel was a great value for the price! The staff was extremely friendly and it is a couple block from the beach. The hotel is also very close to the restaurants and shops on Pacific Avenue.

Short drive from hotel
If you prefer to be closer to shops and restaurants and drive a few blocks to the beach I would stay closer to Pacific Avenue.

HoJo Santa Cruz
A great location, just a short walk to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk & Wharf. The parking is adequate and easy to get to. The hotel itself is a bit on the old side, but appears well maintained. The rooms are big enough and comfortable, although the (two) pillows are quite small. The hot tub is definitely HOT, and a great place to relax after a long day. All in all, a pretty good value for the money.

great location not so great parking
Walking distance to the wharf, the boardwalk and the beach. The parking is tight, but we didn't need the car all weekend. We would definitly stay here again.

Nice visit
Room was clean, quiet, and within walking distance of the beach and wharf, very friendly and helpful staff. Parking was difficult at times. Continental breakfast was cold food and packaged danishes only. Breakfast area was beautiful and comfortable, but only open during breakfast hours. Would have enjoyed access for casual meetings with friends/business aquaintenances or just relaxation.
