Nice Hotel
The room was clean and the bed pretty comfortable. It's location is nice as well. The 2 outdoor hot-tubs were a welcome sight in the evenings. I will be staying here again.

What the FORGET I Paid for this?
Advertised as a Days Inn I found that this property was only recently acquired by the Days Inn Corp. Although advertised as a non smoking property, apparently that was not always the case. The room smelled like an old apartment that was painted several times to mask the smell of a 3 pack a day smoker. Fail! Thank God I brought Fabreeze and candles. Still you could smell the smoke in the fans in the bathroom and people were over looked while they smoked in the parking lot, just below bedroom windows and in the lobby. BIG FAIL! The property overall is in dyer need of maintenance, ie: the safety certification on the elevator is EXPIRED. Broken blinds, torn couch fabric, torn shower curtains, a homeless shelter may have been a better option or sleeping in our car at a rest stop. Even better, were the shreeks from the dozen or more kids in the "low income housing" across the street. Apparently, screaming at the top of their lungs until 10:00pm is considered a form of play. When things did settle down a bit, so we could try to get some sleep from our long day, we were awaken by jack hammer like sounds coming from the other side of our bathroom wall at 1:30 a.m. Literally, our walls were shaking. When I called the front desk to tell them, the man laughed ... loudly and told me it was only the jacuzzi from the other room. The next morning they hotel maintenance man told us it was actually the boiler in the utility room on the other side of the wall, that needed repair. Never will I return to a Days Inn property nor any other Santa Cruz hotel for that matter.

Worst hotel ever
Saturday night was OK. Sunday the hotel booked about forty 18 year olds for senior ditch day. The kids put a bar and pot room two floors above us. Cops came twice and arrested one each time. They had fights was yelling and cursing all night. Drinking and smoking all night. Driving in and out under the influence all night. Stayed up watching my car. Got maybe two hours sleep for the three hour drive home. Worst experience I have ever had in a hotel.

comfortable
The Santa Cruz Beach Inn is an older hotel but clean and well kept. There were all the comforts one would expect such as micro wave, frig, iron and board, blow dryer, small dining table, large closet and suitcase stand. The parking lot was brightly lit at night. There was a small balcony to enjoy the night air. I liked the distance from our destination being several walking blocks from the Boardwalk. The neighborhood seemed nice but I was only there for one night and two days so I can't vouch for an extended stay experience. Breakfast is only open for a few short hours in the morning, go early. The pool is a bit loud if your room is close to it. They have all the cable cannels.
