Simple beachfront hotel with pool in Santa Cruz, California
Coastview Inn Santa Cruz boasts an unbeatable and rare beachfront location just across from Santa Cruz's main beach. Another great getaway
We stayed in another ocean view room but it was the king size bed this time and it was even better than the last time we stayed. We're loving this hotel more and more and have decided that this is where we will be staying whenever we want to pay a visit to the beach which we are hoping will be at least twice a month. We stayed this passed weekend Jan/2013 but it doesn't give the 2013 option for the year. Lol

An unforgettable family experience
We loved waking up to the sound of waves crashing along the shore. The boardwalk, although most of the stores were closed, was nice to walk through and the wharf was spectacular. Everything was in walking distance and loved all of the food choices. This hotel may not be "top notch," but it's $100-200 less than the nicer ones close by. The beds were amazingly comfortable. The continental breakfast was disappointing but I guess it's expected. Oh well. We will definitely be staying here again..hopefully as soon as a month.

Short walk from hotel
If you're going to the boardwalk, it's best to go during season. If you're interested in walking through the wharf and having a delicious New England clam chowder in a sourdough bowl, stop by the Dolphin restaurant at the end of the wharf. We tried 2 other places and this one was the best. The sea lions are an attraction right outside their door because they sleep under the wharf. We couldn't see them at night but we could hear them so it was cool seeing all of them during the day.

Weekend getaway
Great value & price. Nice re-modeled rooms. Comfy King bed. Across the street from the Boardwalk & short walk to the Wharf. We will stay again.

Great location
Quiet, easy no frills. Good value! Right across the street from the boardwalk. We wanted to stay at the Dream Inn across the street but it was 3x the price. So glad we didn't b/c we found Coastview Inn instead.

Geat Value
Anybody who rates this hotel 1 star hasn't stayed at many California hotels. The layout of the hotel is cramped, it's more designed to pack much into a small space, at the expense of noise isolation and privacy. However, that's quite typical of beachfront hotels. The hotel is recently remodeled, and the rooms are nice and clean. You can't beat the location, literally the boardwalk and wharf are right across the street. Believe me, I've paid a lot more for a lot less. All in all a great value. I'll be back.

Great location!
Hotel was clean & inviting..., had everthing you need for weekend visit to Santa Cruz, the staff was friendly & accommodating...and the price was right! I will be back

Breakfast at 8
This place was a disappointment. The room itself was average, but the motel does not serve breakfast until 8 am. No coffee before then, either. No coffee in the room because as the on-duty manager said previous customers spilled coffee on the rug. We had a good breakfast at a restaurant on the wharf but, of course, we had to pay for it. Parking was also somewhat awkward here
