Coastview Inn Santa Cruz

Hotel was clean & inviting..., had everthing you need for weekend visit to Santa Cruz, the staff was friendly & accommodating...and the price was right! I will be back

This place was a disappointment. The room itself was average, but the motel does not serve breakfast until 8 am. No coffee before then, either. No coffee in the room because as the on-duty manager said previous customers spilled coffee on the rug. We had a good breakfast at a restaurant on the wharf but, of course, we had to pay for it. Parking was also somewhat awkward here

You can not ask for a better location if you are going to be spending your time at the boardwalk ammusement park. The hotel is directly across the street from it. There are lots of good places to eat within a very short walking distance. The staff was very nice and helpful. We arrived about three hours early and our room was not ready, nor did we expect it to be. The guy at the desk gave us a hotel parking pass so we could utilize the hotel parking lot before we were supposed to check in. That was very helpful and saved us money and time trying to find a parking spot until we could check in. If we had to find any faults with the hotel, it would have to be the pillows. They were flat and tired. We did not ask for better ones, but I am sure they would have tried to help us out. This is not a 5 star hotel, and it was never advertised as such. Overall we thought it was an excellent value for the cost.

its anice place to stay if you travel with kids the beach its right in front . the room s were clean and big also ,and the pier its right there

The location was the best. It was across the street from the Boardwalk and the beach. The rooms were really nice, and the staff was great too. We will definitely stay here everytime we are in Santa Cruz.

The staff was friendly, but the room was very small and the shower was backed up. We had no cups in the room, which was a problem for my mother when she had to take her medication. An inquiry to the front desk netted a sheepish, "They're on order." It was nice to be across the street from the ocean and within walking distance of the pier. The area after dark didn't seem quite savory.

I was dealing with [...] the whole time...1. Asked for an ocean view room, got it2. The office closes at 9 but we called and said we would be running late, [...] waited until 10pm3. The first room we got had, what appeared to be a non-working heater (or we just didn't know how to use it). [...] couldn't figure it out either so she immediately transferred us to a different room3. The room was perfectly clean, nice bed...we couldn't ask for anything more4. We checked out at about 11:30 (with permission, of course), and were allowed to keep our car there so that we can spend some time on the boardwalk, since there was ample parking and the hotel was not fullExcellent experience. Next time we stay in Santa Cruz I will probably just call [...] directly.

Very clean with perfect location. Management very friendly.

Location is only reason for 2 stars, perfect spot on boardwalk right in front of beach. Staff at hotel didn't seem to want to help as fast as I hoped . We checked in at 3pm to a still dirty room from past guest and took 3 more hours before it was done while we enjoyed the great beach boardwalk . Will not stay again , but will always plan on future trips to beautiful Santa Cruz, CA
