Beautiful property, great location, friendly staff
The staff was very accommodating with little requests that showed they cared. The room was nicely appointed and the grounds were just beautiful--an oasis in a very convenient location!

We love this place!
I booked the Babbling Brook for our honeymoon when we got married and we liked it so much, we came back for our first anniversary. It's right near downtown, but the view from our room made it look like we were in the country. A brook does babble right through the center and we enjoyed relaxing in the yard next to it. The breakfast was delicious. Having a hot tub in our own room was a big plus, as well. Every room has a theme of a different famous painter. The architecture is charming.

Nightlife tip:
Short walk from hotel
It's a short walk to Pacific Avenue, the heart of Santa Cruz. There are several restaurants and shops there, as well as a movie theater & The Catalyst, which has live music. I also recommend driving down to to West Cliff Drive and strolling along and watching the sunset.

Want a delightful and sensual escape?
We made our reservations some time ago. Right before our departure, I read a very negative review. I was very concerned I had made a mistake. Thou dost protest! Upon our arrival we were greeted with cascading water creating negative ions for our well being, a plethora of flowers, birds, ducks, and towering trees; the vibe serene, the rooms well appointed with luxurious amenities, and a staff that bent over backwards to make our stay enjoyable. To add icing to the cake was Tom Cole, host and cook extraordinaire who whipped up tasty breakfasts, salivating Hors d'oeuvres with our evening wine, and entertained us with tidbits of history and lore. This delightful and special Inn is great for a couple's retreat from big city stress, great for families visiting their geniuses at college and even for a business trip. To start the day well rested surrounded by people who want to make your stay a wonderful relaxing experience is all that any of us can ask for: a lover, a family, or a business person, this is the place.

Babbling Brook Bed Bug Inn
Staff was friendly at first; there were a variety of bugs that were flying around the room, but the worst is there were Bed Bugs!! When I called to inform them the front desk clerk was eating over the phone and it disgusting I called her on it and she kept talking (unacceptable) the management was indifferent after I told him that had to bug bomb my house. I didn't want my money back I just wanted some kind of concern for other guests, but no didn't get any kind of response but there e-mail, they probably think I will fade away but I will inform everyone who asks about places to stay in Santa Cruz. I paid so what's it to them? Again it's called Poor customer service. So it was a horrible stay, the parking is inadequate, it takes 5 turns to get your vehicle out, the room looks nice but is very deceiving; no water pressure! NOISY Road Traffic they says ends at 10 but is really 3am. Don't stay there!!!
