Moldy old

Renovations don't cover up the 'old'ness of the building. Moldy building, not a 4 star.

Nice for a business trip

My two-room suite was perfect for this trip, with a comfortable bed, nice bathroom area, big desk and chest of drawers, and two TV's. Free drinks were included, along with made-to-order eggs as part of the breakfast buffet. Easy to get on to US-101 from the hotel (but the traffic was lousy). Wireless costs $6 a night per machine, which was $6 too much, in my book, but better than the $13 some other places charge. Hotel was generally quiet at night. Pool is outside.

Business trip

The hotel and staff was great. However, would recommend offering free internet in rooms. I require an internet connection when on the road. I would prefer getting free internet more than complimentary drinks at the bar every night.

Plaza Suites

The staff was wonderful and the facilities were clean and well decorated. The rooms were TINY...I prefer Embassy Suites, but wanted to try something new. As is typical of any "free cocktail hour" The drinks were VERY weak...hardly worth the bother ( and I'm not a real big drinker either!) THings went smoothly however, and it was a nice weekend.

Winchester Mansion is interesting, but not SCARY or ghostly...glad we went. Make sure you drive north to see San Fransisco and the Muir Woods just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Absolutely fantastic!

Make sure to give yourself plenty of time if you plan any type of tour in san fransisco that starts in the morning. Morning traffic could mess that up a bit unless you leave early.

Plaza Suites - Santa Clara

I loved the hotel, ammenities and my room. Very comfortable, functional and it had everything I needed including a living room away from the bed room. Would recommend this to anyone traveling to the area. Only minor item - the breakfast menu did not include low cholesterol or organic foods.
