Perfect location, but be aware of the motel style portions

This was located 5 minutes by car from my client, so that was great. The free shuttle was also very nice, and the drivers very accommodating. However, before booking, be aware that there are really two facilities, here; the traditional hotel style rooms, where the doors open up to hallways internal to the building (the high-rise portion) and the motel style rooms which open to the outside parking lots. I booked online expecting a traditional hotel room, but they put me in the motel style (which is why I got a comparatively low rate), on the 2nd floor. I requested, and got, a 1st floor room, because there are no elevators in those motel style rooms. I would have had to lug 3 heavy items up a long flight of stairs. The room, on the outer perimeter facing the parking lot, was clean, but the air gap under the door let some insects in. I killed a tiny spider I found crawling in my bed on the 2nd night. There is no mini fridge or microwave in the rooms. Also, someone tried to open my door (probably by accident, but they sure were trying to get that door open) but when I yelled through the door I heard him run away, and I immediately called the front desk. They said they would check on it, but they never called me back to let me know that they had checked the outside perimeter of the motel portion, where I was located. Also, I had to go through the main hotel part, and back out into the opposite motel part, to get to the ice machine. If I stay here again, I will only do so if I can stay in the high-rise, hotel style interior rooms, but only if I can get a comparable price.

Biltmore stay was mediocre

I booked a Garden Room at Biltmore for a Stitches West convention at Santa Clara Convention Center. The room is the worst room I could find; therefore, ruin Biltmore reputation. I got a room for handicap where the standing shower flooded everywhere, in front of the swimming pool where I could hear all the noise going there, next to the hotel's laundry facility, at night, the heater kicked on like a jolt every 45 minutes. It wasn't a comfortable stay for sure. Only positive things are a clean bed and HD TV.

Meh....

The room was kept clean and the staff were attentive. Not a bad choice overall. However, I couldn't escape the feeling that the bare minimum was done to make my stay pleasant. I did get a free breakfast buffet, but the offerings were basic and bland, including a chafing dish full of scrambled eggs which were overdone and not seasoned. My room had a nicely sized TV, but the channel selection was basic and didn't have a programming guide. WiFi was indeed free, but the registration system wasn't working on my second night. Trust me, it could have been much worse, but there are other hotels in the area and in the price range (e.g. Marriott) that will give you more bang for the buck.

And I thought Biltmore was a decent brand...

Decent for the price and was very close to my morning meeting location. Room smelled a bit musty and the bed was really lumpy. Staff was terrific. Overall, just fine for a night and the price was right.

Very Average

This is a very generic hotel. Grand lobby but more of a motel setup on rooms which is a good/bad thing.

Good resting place

Coming to the hotel, i did not get the room I had applied for as they ran out of them. To compensate, I was immediately offered an upgrade to a suite. It proved excellent and probably better than the initial rented room. Staff was very helpful, Breakfast buffet could be better, compared to other hotels of the same class
