State Street is 2 blocks up. Lots of great restaurants & shops. Highly recommend Arigato, if you're a sushi fan.

Great place to stay
The Upham was a great place to stay. I liked the rooms, and the hotel staff were very friendly and courteous. The rooms are well decorated and the beds are very comfortable. The grounds are beautiful, a great place to relax and read a book or just get some sun. I like the fact that it is very close to State Street, so we could walk to shopping and dining. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to get away for fun and relaxation...
