good and inexpensive

I was not looking for anything fancy. Just a place to rest my head. This place did the trick.

Decent price for one night stay but lacked blankets n heated pool

I stayed here for only one night. The. Room was ok. Flat screen tv and clean.but the blanket provided was not enough. Had to ask for an additional one. Price seems decent considering it's Santa barbara. Prabhakara

Not bad

I stayed here one night to run a marathon the next day. It was a good stay for a decent price. The clerk was nice and accommodating of my request for a quiet room (away from the road). The tiled room floor was a little off-putting, and the decor was hip for IKEA circa 2001, but the room was clean, and everything worked. I got a good night's sleep. Also, FYI, there is a restaurant, Max's, conveniently directly across the street. The restaurant is evidently known for breakfast and lunch. I ate there for dinner, when it serves Italian, and the meal was quite mediocre. Luckily there was an AM PM within walking distance, and I got some snack food there to tide me over.

Good value

Our stay was good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A bus stop for puplic transport to downtown was directly available outside of the motel. The only little spot of bother was that we found some hair from the house keeping staff here and there (e.g. on the towels), which is not too nice... Still a good place to stay.

Cheap room in Santa Barbara

Exactly what one should expect from a Motel 6. Clean, no frills.

It was okay, definately clean though.

The room was clean. Extremely small, no blow dryer, no complimentary soap/shampoo, no in-room coffee maker or closet for that matter, (just a rack to hang stuff up). For it being UCSB's freshman move-in weekend, the price was reasonable. We stayed in June for UCSB's orentation at a hotel down the street; received all the amenities above that was denied at Motel 6 for about the same cost.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Santa Barbara is expensive. To be buget minded, either pack breakfast meals and/or lunch so you only pay for your dinner meal out.

Adequate, but not great.

Good location near Fairgrounds, but far from the beaches and Downtown. Noisy plumbing from other rooms. Rooms near road are noisy, recommend roon in back. They over did it with the room freshener, but room was clean, no frills. Pool is not heated. [...] at the office was very nice.

Adequate

Pro's: good location, modern, updated decor, nice big flat screen TV. Con's: could be cleaner. No clock or clock radio in room. $2.99 charge for WiFi. Candy bars cost $2 in the machine.
