Hotel Oceana Santa Barbara

My daughter went to plug in her phone charger and got zapped by an arching wire from the hotel's iHome. This sent sparks everywhere, fried my daughter's charger, and set the outlet on fire. Luckily my daughter was o.k. I would have expected the hotel to reimburse us for the phone connector but instead they did absolutely nothing...the breakfast was a joke, nothing available due to full booking, etc. Good location but disappointing staff, although the electrician was nice LOL.

Check-in was quick and easy. The room itself was small but nice. Walls a bit thin but the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was also nice, but very popular! They did a good job of refilling everything though so once we got a seat it was great. Better than standard continental breakfast, but since you're right next door to a famous breakfast place it is still not quite the bacon and eggs you smell on your way down :) Since we got a discounted rate I expected to be at the back of the property but we were surprised with a partial ocean view room! Would have loved to use the bikes but it had rained and they have a no-slippery-conditions policy. Didn't read the fine print though, so the ten dollar parking fee was a bit of a surprise too, but not a deal-breaker. Can't beat the location, across the street from the beach and half a block from the pier. Would definitely visit again.

It was perfectly located/very clean/ and nicely decorated. The only issue I had was with their I old fashion heater beside that it was a great place for a very good price.

This is a charming place right at the beach. It was homey, comfortable and just perfect for me and my best friend to relax from a busy weekend. I can't wait to bring my husband back to visit State Street, the beach and maybe even do some kayaking in the harbor. The staff was excellent, and though we missed the breakfast provided by the hotel after oversleeping, Sambo's right next door was a delicious and nostalgic treat. Hotel Oceana is definitely on my "must visit" list, [...]

We enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and the location was excellent. Only issue was the weather not cooperating.

Hotel was clean, lobby had warm/welcoming decor...we were driving up the coast and delighted we stayed at the Hotel Oceana...would definitely stay again and recommend to others. We enjoyed downtown shopping and dining...slept well, quiet hotel. ALL GOOD!!!

This is a very sweet hotel right by the pier in Santa Barbara. There's a complimentary breakfast in the lobby in the morning, but if that doesn't suit you, there's a great restaurant right next door where you can sit and look at the ocean. The staff was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. They recommended some great places to eat and responded quickly to my needs. The room was a bit small, but it was sparkling clean and adequate for the price. This is a great place to stay if you're looking for a non-traditional hotel. It's quaint and you couldn't ask for a better location. My only complaint is that the walls are a bit thin. I could hear the people on either side of me talking and watching T.V. All in all though, it's a great place to stay.

Two nights at this hotel. The "Partial Ocean View" room was disapointing. Had to stand outside to even see the ocean since room doesn't even face it. Both nights without movie channels due to broken system. Even after complaint nothing was done to fix it. Housekeeping was rude and pushed their way in front of you as if we were in their way. No credit return for inconvienience was offered by management. Pick a different hotel!
