Hotel Oceana Santa Barbara

I enjoyed the pool and the location of the hotel. However, my room was a corner room and the alarm went off at 6:00 when we did not set it and then it was next to impossible to try to figure out how to turn anything off. Also, not sure whey they don't have ice. It's a little ridiculous that you have to order ice.

We arrived late at night and they have someone at the front desk 24 hours. The room was a bit on the smaller side for four but we don't spend much time in the rom anyway! The room was very clean and cute, including a mini bar, mini fridge, closet and desk. The continental breakfast was perfect and the staff was so friendly. We sat and ate our breakfast while looking out at the ocean. The weight room is updated, clean and sufficient. We took advantage of the complimentary bike rentals. Our room was right by the heated pool and there was another heated pool and jacuzzi over by the weight room with towels on the chairs. The location is right at the end of state street close to all the action but far enough for the peaceful beach feeling. We will definitely be returning!

Met all my expectations. You can't beat the location.

Stayed here for a night, the room was clean and bright and had a fresh smell. The location is really great, just cross the street and you are on the beach. The free bike rentals are nice too, a bike ride along the beach in the morning makes for a nice beginning. The breakfast room can get crowded, but you can take your breakfast to one of the open sitting areas with ocean overlooks. The 3-star for value is because they charge even for parking and tea/coffee in the room. Charging for the mini-bar is acceptable, but these additional charges are not cool when the price already includes a $20 resort fee. Overall though a nice hotel, would stay here again.

If you're looking for a big luxurious room, look somewhere else or at least consider the fancier rooms. Mine was small (okay, tiny) but sufficient since I was there to enjoy Santa Barbara, not my room. Room, linens, bed were all very comfortable. It's definitely about the location. Right across the street from lovely beach and just a few blocks away from 'downtown' with lots of great restaurants and wine tasting rooms. I wouldn't pay a lot for the hotel itself (save the location), so value only when you get a good deal (I booked with a flight for a work meeting and it only ended up costing about $110/night). Cab ride cost about $40 from airport (before tip).

It was a lovely hotel. Very close to beach, shops, & resturants. My only caveat is the price! Its a bit expensive for what you get.....not even free coffee in your room!

The hotel spans 2 blocks of Ocean Front property with a short and walkable distance to all the State St. attractions.

the room was incredibly small, not even a chair or a place to open the luggage (besides the bed), looked like a converted utility room, in fact the adjacent room was a utility room, were people started working at 6:30 am the only window enjoyed a " under the stairway" view, the only positive thing was the location

From check-in to check-out the staff was attentive. Thanks to the maintenance staff, the toilet was replaced. The grounds were especially pleasing. Parking can be difficult, but we think worth the cost. The breakfast service was top notch and generous so the day always started pleasantly. The hotel location is ideal for enjoying the beach (across the street), proximity to Sterns Wharf, and State St. The hotel location is ideal for enjoying the cities amenities or venturing into the surrounding territory.

Photos on website are great but not representative. The room was very hot and muggy when we checked at 5 pm. Hard sleeping with no cool air for room. Funky old shower hardware - cannot tell where is Hot Water. Wayyyyyyy over priced. Staff is young and nice. Breakfast is like Holiday Inn express - cheap, white flour, lifeless food. Coffee was very bitter even with 3 packs of sugar. Nice location to beach and warf. I do not recommend it. Way OVER priced for what you get.
