bad hotel cleaning
it is really bad. The room wasn't cleaned after the previous guest. There was hair on the pillow cases and bed sheets on both beds. the air conditioner was not working and the window was cracked. Curtains were all ripped off. We didn't stay there overnight and when we went to complain the guy at the lobby said that we have to do it through website that reserved the room there was no manager at the hotel.

Do not stay here!!!!
Staying at the Fiesta Inn was a horrible experience. The room was dirty, cramped and uncomfortable. There were NO amenities at all. The staff was rude and unaccomodating. Overall, one of the worst hotel experiences yet.

Ok for the money
This is an older motel. But, for the money it's good. Nothing fancy. But, this is Santa Barbara and it is on State Street, good location. If all you are doing is staying overnight and need a place to sleep, good for the money. So as I said for the money you can't go wrong.

surprise
The hotel was ok but I think for that price you can find something better .You need to know that if you arrive after 10 pm there will be no one there and you have to call to get someone to check you in.

Newly Engaged
Close to downtown
My boyfriend and I were looking for something close to the shops and restaurants on State Street and this was the closest. We were in town for one night for a lacrosse tournament and did not want to spend a lot, so the Fiesta Inn was ok in that regard. Luckily we are not very picky people who are easily appalled. Upon arrival we checked in in the office which was actually the easiest check-in ever. The man at the desk simply asked my boyfriend to fill out an index card with his name and address and then handed us two room keys. In this 30 second exchange, I discovered that this 5'x6' office was also where the "continental breakfast" must be. There was a Belgian waffle iron and a mahine that must pump out a waffle batter sitting right next to the front desk. Might have been really tasty, but we did not get the chance to try it. Then we walked up to our room where the only real disappoint on the way up there was the dilapidated condition of the premises. I'm assuming this is under consideration to them because half of the parking lot is filled with old mattresses and furniture, as though they are remodeling. The room itself was ok, two double beds, a dresser, a built-in desk area, a walk-in closet that you could hardly get to because the door only opened 6 inches before it hit the bed, and a microwave. Another sign of remodeling is that the room had two tv's in it. One was a nice flat screen hanging on the wall over the dresser and the other was an old one on a desk in front of the door that would adjoin our room to the one next door. The flat screen was not working yet, so we used the old one, which was perfectly ok for the short time we actually spent in the room. The only real disappointment, besides the condition of the property, was that the light in the bathroom was well on it's last leg. It definitely needed a new fluorescent light rod installed because at its brightest it maybe emitted about the same amount of light as the moon shining through a window. The bathroom was very dark. Overall, this motel was just fine for what we needed it for, but I would not recommend it if you are looking for the more beautiful side of Santa Barbara. It definitely has a lot of potential and I hope that the remodeling is on the up and up. Also, there is a good breakfast spot about a block or two down the street called Garretts.

road trip passing in Santa Barbara
Hotel well located, not far to the centre, restaurants and pubs. Large parking, room ok but a bit old fashioned. No breakfast room, you have to bring your coffee and marmelade in the bedroom.

Great value...if you're forgiving
The value of this place is fantastic: you're paying pennies on the dollar compared to other hotels in the immediate area. And you're still less than two miles from the beach, and a direct bus ride to most of the places one would need to go to, including the airport. If you're willing to spend an extra 30 minutes a day walking or bussing it, you could easily save several hundred dollars over the course of a week. The pros: - Location & ease of public transit - Free wifi - No unpleasant smells - Not obviously unclean - Next door to small convenience store (in gas station) - Comfortable mattress - Otherwise nothing obviously unpleasant except for the below: The cons: - No air conditioning...ugh - Few outlets in the room; existing outlets are behind bed (room #10); had to move bed to plug in fan and lamp--then couldn't plug in laptop; not laptop friendly - Unattractive interior and exterior (walls, ceiling, doors, locks, toilet, sink, grout, windows, bed frames, etc., etc., could use replacement) - Water temperature was impossible to control (room #10)

Mucho NO GOOD
Great location. Bad smell in room with no AC. They charged my credit card full rate again after I had already paid at orbitz. They refunded me the money, but what a hassle. Sometimes you get what you pay for. Never again.

One draw back
One draw back, no AC in the rooms. Although Santa Barbara does not need AC, once in awhile you do! Other than that, it was fine.
