With 78 acres of ocean front property -including 2 miles of natural beach- Bacara offers an expansive sun-drenched setting with endless vistas of sea and sky- while the resort*s innovative and artful design- low-storied buildings terraced to the sea- is in keeping with the intimacy and aesthetics of a Mediterranean village. Complete with flower-filled courtyards- restful fountains and red-tiled roofs- Bacara is the perfect place to enjoy the leisurely pace and warm embrace of the California lifestyle- where the climate is Mediterranean -mild and sunny- with average daytime temperatures between 60 and 80 degrees. Cool- crystal-clear nights are ideal for stargazing -unlike most Southern California coastal areas- where the concentration of urban lights and frequent nighttime cloud cover can obscure even the moon-. With its spectacular setting- convenient location- beautiful architecture and wonderful weather- Bacara Resort and Spa is the perfect vacation destination- ideal for weekend getaways- leisurely vacations- family reunions- weddings- honeymoons- business retreats- conferences or other special events. Bacara boasts- *354 spacious guestrooms and specialty suites- all of which feature private balconies or patios- with garden- mountain or ocean views. *Fine dining in 4 restaurants. *The 4-diamond Spa at Bacara- a 42000-square-foot spa/ fitness center. *World-class golf at 3 nearby courses. *Additional resort recreation- including beach activities- 3 zero-edge swimming pools- 4 lighted tennis courts- a supervised kids* club- specialty retail shops- and adjacent hiking trails. *Outstanding wedding/ reception venues- with beautiful ocean views- terraces and patios. *Over 25-000 square feet of multipurpose meeting/ function space *Close proximity wineries- ocean excursions- historic sightseeing and upscale shopping.

Motel Barcara

Bacara is not the hotel it used to be. I used to love and say nothing but good things about about Bacara. Of course this was years ago. It is now run down, the rooms are not clean and the service is absolutely terrible. We statues at Belmond El Encanto a few weeks ago which was absolutely beautiful, clean and great service. the only good thing I could say about Bacara is it's location, so if u want to to stay at a motel on the beach, Bacara is for you. Get your money's worth and stay at Belmond El Encanto or Four Seasons. I have to say I am truly disappointed with Barcara as it used to be such a lovely hotel. It must be under different management. The staff used to cater to your every need not make you feel like they're doing you a favor by letting you stay there. btw, we met a few other people at the hotel that said the same!

Date Night with my Husband

The Hotel is absolutely gorgeous! We will go back! Wanted to stay an extra night but forgot that it was Easter weekend and both pools where full of KISD and we really wanted Kid free weekend , even from our own kids :) Had a light dinner at the bar restaurant and sorry to say, did not have a great experience! The food was awful for being a five star Hotel! we were chocked! Spoke to the manger and he was very understanding and pleasant, and compt our dinner. Needless to say we are in the service and food business ourself, so we do understand that things can go wrong but this was not just one mistake, our breakfast was a disaster too. The eggs benedict had no Hollandaise sauce and the egg where overlooked almost hard boild., food and coffee was cold. We will give them another chance and hope it will be better next time :)

Classy weekend getaway. Luxurious

Bacara lived up to all the rave reviews friend's had given it. The staff was wonderful, the grounds gorgeous and the location idyllic. If you are on a budget, this is not for you, but for a special occasion, this is the spot. Be aware that in addition to the room fee, there is a $25/day resort fee, which includes a bottle of wine, and use of the spa, as well as $32/day for parking.

Romantic Getaway

We had the best time walking along the beach collecting shells for memories. We also enjoyed a scenic run along your trails throughout the whole resort. The staff was friendly and helpful in making our so wonderful! The room was relaxing and romantic, which was perfect for our little weekend getaway! We would definitely come stay again! Until then, we will just have to look at the beautiful pictures we took to remind us of our amazing time at Bacara!

Relaxing stay in a beautiful location at 5-star resort

We had a very relaxing weekend at the Bacara. Staff were hospitable, all very friendly and eager to help - despite the fact that 20% gratuity is automatically included in all bills the staff went above and beyond to treat us well. Rooms could have been cleaner for the rating of this hotel, however grounds were beautiful as was the location.

Not too many options to dine at the hotel, so would recommend the short drive in to Santa Barbara, plenty of great resaurants on State Street and around that area.

typical hotel

this resort, on a beautiful cul-de-sac about 20 minutes from downtown Santa Barbara, has all the trappings (spa, pools, beach, health club, etc) but service is ordinary, and sometimes officious (waiter in dining room kept referring to "we," as in are "we" going to the restroom? Are we leaving? I really wanted to snap back, I am leaving, are you?) Valet service was subpar. Food was OK. For the price I was unimpressed.
