Dining

Miro
Miro, named after Spanish artist, Joan Miro, offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, an artistic, luxurious interior and extraordinary Basque-Catalonia cuisine. Basque born chef consultant Gerald Hirigoyen, from the famed Piperade restaurant in San Francisco, together with Chef de Cuisine David Garwacki, have created such signature dishes as Shellfish Stew "Ttoro", Oak Grilled Lamb Chops with Aged Sherry, and Pan Roasted Lobster with Oven Dried Tomatoes. Artisan Foie Gras with Monterey Squid, Grapes and Verjus is another of many seasonal fish preparations all accented with herbs and vegetables grown at the resort's 1,000 acre Ranch at Bacara. To further enhance the dining experience is a tremendous selection of world-class wines selected from Miro's 12,000-bottle Wine Cellar, which has been awarded Wine Spectator's Best Of Award of Excellence and features over 800 different labels.
The Bistro
Get a fresh outlook on dining as a leisure sport. Endless ocean vistas set the stage for The Bistro's harmonious, Mediterranean atmosphere. The Bistro's Mediterranean-fusion cuisine includes an excellent selection of fresh fish and a seasonal selection of organic produce, grown at the 1,000 acre Ranch at Bacara. Chose from an assortment of authentic Italian wood fired pizzas and sumptuous pastas. Meals are served indoors or al-fresco with an ocean breeze. A little loose, a little luxurious, a lot to look forward to.
Spa Cafe
Casually elegant with high, open-beamed ceilings and striking natural stonework, the Spa Cafe offers soothing views of the Spa pool with indoor and outdoor dining and a wonderfully delicious menu that focuses on flavor while mindful of health. The staff is well versed on the nutritional content of each delicious dish, which contains less than 20 percent calories from fat and uses only the freshest of ingredients. Dishes are accented perfectly with herbs and vegetables grown at the resort's 1,000 acre Ranch at Bacara. Enjoy your favorite meal at the Spa Cafe, as the "special of the day" is each individual's personal request.
Bacara Bar
At the Bacara Bar located off the resort's sweeping lobby, guests can choose from a selection of wines, cordials and spirits including signature elixirs such as a "cran apple martini" or "sake tini". Sumptuous cuisine, including fresh hors d'oeuvres and seafood, is also on the menu. For a luxurious open-air ambiance, the Ocean Terrace is located adjacent to the bar, where lovely views of the resort and Pacific Ocean can be enjoyed. The Bacara Bar has musical entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights.

Beautiful & Friendly Resort

Overall, we enjoyed our stay with the nice room and very friendly staff. The staff and location above the ocean makes this place ideal. We only ate once on the property at the Bistro for breakfast and it was excellent. Noticed waiter did not bring spoons to myself and those next to us, for coffee and lattes. Bed could have been firmer; would have been nice to have bird droppings wiped off outside on balcony. Took 45 minutes to get our luggage delivered to room. Our biggest complaint would be having to tip constantly for valet, pool attendants and rides to and from the room. That was annoying because we did not have dollar bills readily available. Otherwise, beautiful resort and I would stay again.

Beautiful hotel, but pricey

We spent two nights here. The room was beautiful and spotless. The pool is terrific, and the service is excellent. Very family friendly! This was an expensive two-night holiday. It felt like we were abroad, but it's less expensive to simply fly to Mexico... There's a $25 hotel fee and a $32 parking fee (for each day). So the costs add up. Overall great holiday, but way too expensive.

Try to negotiate the $32 daily parking fee... This is not NYC. The parking lot is right behind the lobby.

Motel Barcara

Bacara is not the hotel it used to be. I used to love and say nothing but good things about about Bacara. Of course this was years ago. It is now run down, the rooms are not clean and the service is absolutely terrible. We statues at Belmond El Encanto a few weeks ago which was absolutely beautiful, clean and great service. the only good thing I could say about Bacara is it's location, so if u want to to stay at a motel on the beach, Bacara is for you. Get your money's worth and stay at Belmond El Encanto or Four Seasons. I have to say I am truly disappointed with Barcara as it used to be such a lovely hotel. It must be under different management. The staff used to cater to your every need not make you feel like they're doing you a favor by letting you stay there. btw, we met a few other people at the hotel that said the same!

Date Night with my Husband

The Hotel is absolutely gorgeous! We will go back! Wanted to stay an extra night but forgot that it was Easter weekend and both pools where full of KISD and we really wanted Kid free weekend , even from our own kids :) Had a light dinner at the bar restaurant and sorry to say, did not have a great experience! The food was awful for being a five star Hotel! we were chocked! Spoke to the manger and he was very understanding and pleasant, and compt our dinner. Needless to say we are in the service and food business ourself, so we do understand that things can go wrong but this was not just one mistake, our breakfast was a disaster too. The eggs benedict had no Hollandaise sauce and the egg where overlooked almost hard boild., food and coffee was cold. We will give them another chance and hope it will be better next time :)

Classy weekend getaway. Luxurious

Bacara lived up to all the rave reviews friend's had given it. The staff was wonderful, the grounds gorgeous and the location idyllic. If you are on a budget, this is not for you, but for a special occasion, this is the spot. Be aware that in addition to the room fee, there is a $25/day resort fee, which includes a bottle of wine, and use of the spa, as well as $32/day for parking.

Romantic Getaway

We had the best time walking along the beach collecting shells for memories. We also enjoyed a scenic run along your trails throughout the whole resort. The staff was friendly and helpful in making our so wonderful! The room was relaxing and romantic, which was perfect for our little weekend getaway! We would definitely come stay again! Until then, we will just have to look at the beautiful pictures we took to remind us of our amazing time at Bacara!
