Doubletree Hotel Santa Ana/Orange County Airport

I've stayed at hotels twice this price that were half as nice. The rooms are clean and have obviously been recently updated. The only reason that I took a point off of room comfort was because we wound up with a handicap accessible room - which they didn't mention - so there was no bathtub. But still, the room was very nice. There is a pool, but it's kind of a sad little pool. No swimming laps here, but it's clean and there's a hot tub. They at least had the forethought to give it good solar exposure, so it's nice to just sit out there. The downside is that I think it's one of the only smoker spots. And it's a small area, so there are usually people around you smoking. The only other downside is the hotel lobby layout and restaurant. This is something that most people may not notice, but working in planning it jumps out at me. Hidden in the back of lobby, behind all the conference rooms, there you'll find the elevator to get to your rooms (which is not clearly delineated). The restaurant looks a little sad, so we passed. But I'm sure it's fine. Really though, I'm very picky about hotel cleanliness and I felt extremely comfortable and relaxed staying here. Check in and out was quick and painless. I haven't ordered much room service in my life, but we ordered breakfast and dinner and I thought it was GREAT and very reasonably priced! Maybe I had low expectations but the food was good and hot. The location isn't amazing, but it's close to the mall on Bristol and the interstate. However, you are also close to some neighborhoods you might want to avoid at night. As long as you have a car though, the location is fine. I would DEFINITELY recommend this hotel and stay here again! Great deal.

Hotel was clean, quiet and very comfortable, Good value when on sale. parking at $15 is still high

Genuinely, everything was perfect...so much so that we plan on seeking that hotel out again in the future!

Hotel was clean, comfortable and located just off the freeway. The room was big and recently updated. Overall stay was positive and a vaule.

Spent quite some time in the room as it turned out -- comfortable enough, but no international TV channels (eg BBC, France 24, Al Jazeera...). Toiletries a bit limited -- cost-saving measure? Reception staff very helpful. Couldn't find a reasonable restaurant within walking distance - and nearest supermarket 25 mins walk. Better if you come by car...!

This was a great value - nice hotel, fluffy pillows and comfortable bed - HD tv. I was on business but came early to see the sights - much better value than the Hyatt which my Company paid for. Half the price of Hyatt and just as nice. I didn't get a cookie at check in but I didn't ask for one and I didn't need one. Quiznos right across the street. Nice big bathroom. Pool was clean but small. No one was in it. I would stay again

Very clean, nice room. The staff in the front desk is friendly. There is no extra cost for parking as well. I like they use crabtree shampoo, lotion, and facewash......

THE HOTEL WAS VERY CLEAN AND THE STAFF WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL. ROOM SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT AND VERY PROMPT. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE TRAVELING TO SANTA ANA.

The building was clean and looked nice. Easy access to three different major freeways. The room was clean for the most part, we did find some hairs on the bed that were not our's. Air temperature controls were pretty responsive. Our fifth floor room had a nice view of the area, but mostly blocked by some high end apartments and shops. It's located in a business area so it seemed pretty safe. Didn't get a chance to try the restaurant in the hotel or the place across the street. Didn't like the fact that parking was $15 per day and WiFi was $9.95 a day but we got the room at a great price so it wasn't that big of a deal. I'd stay there again.
