Comfortable, clean and very courteous staff
Excellent. Everything was great! The only negative, if I had to reach for one, is the chlorine odor of the pool which is right off the main lobby. If I were designing the hotel I would siituate the pool and work-out area at the back of the hotel.

Excellent long weekend
We stayed at San Rafael Embassy Suites for a long weekend. Loved the cook to order breakfast, hot tub, and awesome central location between San Francisco, Sonoma and Napa. It was perfect for what we were looking for.

We ate at Il Davide as recommended by the front desk. AWESOME Italian food. We loved it. So glad we went.

The hotel brought the outside inside. Loved the Koi pond. The bed and pillows were super comfy. The room was average but the complmentary breakfast and drinks made up for it.

Beware [...]bookers
Checking in we were given a room that made you feel like you were smoking unfiltered cigarettes. When we asked for a change they made it clear that we were getting the dregs because we'd booked through a third party. "You get a good deal but you can't expect a non-smoking room.". They volunteered an ionizer (which never materialized) and put us on a waiting list for a non- smoking room (they never called). Our hotel experience was completely colored by this initial exchange (and smoke drenched room). We would not book here again.

Great location
We stay here every year and find it is a great location and nice rooms for our purposes. Fantastic farmer's market nearby on Thursday mornings.

Family of Four Visits Family
We had a GREAT experience overall. I have twins and they refuse to share a bed when we travel. Sometimes we have trouble with hotels promising one thing and then giving us something else. We got exactly what we asked for and what we needed. I did have to ask for coffee packets to be brought up one night but they were lovely and brought us extra stuff we didn't need. Although slightly off the beaten track, the hotel is in a lovely area with easy access to Marin. We will definitely be back.

Great hotel, too far from shopping.
We have stayed at this hotel many times and have never been disappointed. The rooms are clean, well furnished with great guest services including an early evening open bar with minimum food, and a fabulous breakfast service with eggs prepared to order, including omelets, pancakes, French toast all to order. The staff is always helpful. The only downside is that it is away from town and shopping which is a problem if you don't have access to a car.

Let travelers know that it is several miles from San Rafael, too far to walk. We were picked up by our son or grandsons so that was not a problem but we were stuck at the hotel until they arrived.

I had no problems with my stay and enjoyed their evening receptions and breakfast. My grand-daughter visited and they even gave her food to feed the fish, so she would give it a 10. The elevators are a little slow and the room had popcorn ceilings, those a very minor issues.
