A little too much effort

I'm usually a fan of family-run businesses. But this family really isn't very friendly to guests. Which made me kinda feel I was intruding in their space from the expressions and manner of interaction with hotel staff. The room door and toilet did not operate correctly. The room telephone was dead. The heating/cooling system was operated by the room key in a complex manner that took me a day or two to fully decipher. Otherwise the decor and setting was average.

Charming exterior, interior needs major help!!

This motel is very cute and clean on the outside. The inside however is not! The place was probably built in the 50's as small apartments. The bathroom was a huge issue. I am about 5'5", the shower head was just above my eye level, in a shower that is about 3'X3'. The toilet has obviously been replaced recently with a new efficent model, the space is so tight however when you need to use the toilet your knees are in shower. The only electrical outlet in the bathroom was the very old outlet in the light fixture. We stayed in room 101 which was on the end and close to the street, A lot of street noise. and in the morning some worker was jack hammering early in the room next door .We chose this motel because of it's price. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more money and stay somewhere else!

Colonial Inn...yes, we would stay again!

After reading the mixed reviews, we decided to take a chance and were glad we did. Don't know if all the rooms have been renovated, but ours was (106) and we found it to be very nice. We would definitely stay here again.

Frightening

Pictures make this place look quaint. It's not, it's just downright gross. The bathroom has never seen a cleaning lady. The grout is black with mold. The floor is dirty. The bathroom was nasty enough that I left the next morning early to shower at another hotel. Either the bed itself or the pillow smelled bad. I used a rolled up pair of jeans as a pillow. The carpeted floor was sticky?!? How long do you have to let carpet go before it gets sticky? The guest next door had visitors every 30 minutes and they were loud in their activities. Truly frightening. Please don't stay here if you're looking for a hotel. This is nothing other than a no-tell motel. I wish I had taken pictures to share. This place was a life changing experience.

Great no frills place to stay

This place cost the fraction of other places in the area. It was super clean. Everything in the room seemed new or newly remodeled. Very good place to stay.

Wouldn't Stay Here Again

The room was very dingy and outdated. The beds were pretty uncomfortable, but the worst part was the bathroom. It was cramped, and the tiles were moldy. The room had a dank odor to it, probably coming from the carpet. This seemed more like a low-end college dorm room than a hotel. The price was good, but I would have preferred to stay at Motel 6 for the same price.
