Reasonably Priced Bay Area Location
Our 2 bedded room was fine, having all that we needed for a one night stay. The location was good, just off of U.S.101 and very easy to find. As we were leaving, we were invited to see a room that was recently renovated. Eveything was new and we were very impressed! It had one bed, the bathroom was more comfortable in size, had a granite countered kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator, & coffee maker. Once the 2 bedded rooms are renovated, We look forward to returning.

it's OK for the price we paid!
This hotel is OK considering the price we paid, it's in a good location, close enough to shopping and a city center of San rafael and if you're heading to San Fran it's only about 10 miles. roon are quite clean and they have big TV screen, but the washroom is way to small for a big person to use...

The good, the bad, & the really ugly
This was the 2nd time we have stayed at the Colonial Inn and boy has it changed. The first time we stayed there it was imaculate; this time however I was disapointed in the condition of the bathroom. A bottle of bleach would have cleaned the shower and floor. The grout in the shower was moldy...not very pleasent. I hope they clean it up...it's a perfect location.

Try to avoid
The air conditioner is not working. when we called the front desk about it, the answer we got is "I am sleeping, dont call me again". Try to avoid it.

Very Nice
It was very enjoyable, but at night there was no front desk service, and no breakfast of any type. But, I would still stay at Colonial Inn again. It had good location for us, as we needed to go the Chinese Consul in SF.

No record at hotel of reservation by Orb
There was no record of reservations for us by Orbitz.There was one room left for $72.00(including tax).(The Orbitz arrangement was $59.00)So we did not stay there.Am disapointed in Orbitz.Please make sure there are no charges to my credit card.Told agent the Orbitz phone # was too free,but he said to use our cell phone-which we did-to cancel charges.Please reply and acknoledge all this.Thanx,L.F.H.

Better than a tent...
My friend and I stayed at the Colonial Inn after a century ride. We checked in late and very tired. Our late check-in was no problem. The problem was when we entered the room. The walls were smudged with I don't know what in various spots. The telephone also had a lot of grime and dirt in the crevices. One of the box springs had a large stain on the side. The bathroom was fairly clean. As we were leaving I saw the manager and his two young kids "cleaning" rooms. All in all, this hotel was not a value. The price was too high for the poor quality.
