Super 8 San Mateo/SF Intl. Arpt SE

Well-located, the room was quiet and comfortable, the staff courteous and friendly, parking right in front of my room. I asked for a ground-floor room well in advance, and was accommodated. Super 8 may not be the fanciest hotel around, but nothing is wasted here. I'm not interested in useless extras, just a comfortable room/bed, good TV, refrigerator, and microwave, and this place has it. I was very content, and will be back if I find myself in the area again.

I would have given it 4.5 stars but the microwave rotated a bit wonky so it lost a few presentation points there, and I am 50/50 on location because (5 stars) it's really close to the airport and (0 stars) it's in a scary back alley ghetto type neighborhood. If you go for a walk around the corner to the market, you'll wonder how you weren't mugged on the way. Sounds bleak? The positives are amazing. $55/night gets you a freezer/fridge, big screen flat TV with a huge cable channel selection, very comfortable bed very well made and appealing to tired eyes with 4 big fluffy pillows. Great water pressure with very fast-heated hot water, spacious, great looking furniture including a dressers, a table to do some work at, and several other things. Oh, and the FREE wireless internet is 3 Megabit up and down. That's 500KB/second. Plenty fast for streaming and remotely controlling a remote computer with ease. I'll be staying here each time I come to visit, I've already decided.

This hotel is more like a slump deals the room smelled deep ammoniac as to mask other odors. Floor had holes in it. Wifi wasn t working at many times. My window had view over a very dirty scrapyard. On two evenings, I was disturbed by unknown people and delivery persons. Even the police from two different departments took over the room below to arrest a wanted person. This down t give you a nice feeling on your first night. Overall, an extremely low appreciation.

The staff was rather unfriendly when asked about the weak signal of the wireless connectivity.

toilet wouldn't flush. bathroom smelled of mold. won't stay there again!

The hotel was close tot he airport with a very friendly staff. They were happy to call and get a cab for me in the morning so I could get to the airport on time.

you don't expect much from an airport Super 8, nor should you, but it's a clean bed, in a reasonably clean room, and it doesn't cost much. If you are just looking for a place to wash and rest, this one works fine. The fellow at the front desk is very helpful and kind. It's a short ride to SFO.

One blanket provided only in room instead of two since it was a two bed, and heater was not working. Bathroom light went out in another room second night of trip, so had to take showers in the dark.

I stayed in this hotel together with my two teenage boys for few days.We all like the spacious room here. For the same money, this hotel is one of the best.
