good pool and tub
This hotel was low key on a week night, and the pool and hot tub were lovely for an evening swim and soak under the stars! Also, loved the waffle maker in the breakfast room, so fun!

Visit to Cal Poly
The hotel was perfect for visiting Cal Poly. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Overall, a nice place to stay.

Nice Stay
Great access to the college and downtown area! Though it wasn't the "suites" that I was expecting, overall a nice place. The staff is especially friendly and helpful. Thanks

Good value, nice place
This is one of a bunch of motels in what must be San Luis Obispo's "motel row." So there's lots to choose from, and lots of competition to keep the price reasonable. The Sands staff was very nice, and the room was old but fine. The heater was a little noisy as it cycled on and off, but otherwise the place was quiet. The room was clean, the water was hot, it has good wifi, good location, nice staff, complimentary and decent "extended Continental breakfast.

Decent, good breakfast...
Staff put us next to Laundry room at first, when I asked for room change, he then put us next to a long-term residents who smoke out side of their room. I felt like I was being punished for requesting room change. I then asked for room change again, he put us back to laundry room area, luckily the noice wasn't bad after all. Other than the room situation, complimentary breakfast selection was 1 of the best I've seen with similar price range hotel room. Best part is that they charge 1-time fee for pet, not per night fee like other hotels...

Farmers market on Thursday nights. There is a cute bus that stops in front of the hotel. Or, just walk 10 mins. Great shops in town.

ANTS - A million ANTS
Our room had a million ants - I told the recieptionist about the problem. I was told its because of the rain. " Because of the Rain " Did not fix my problem.

Thanksgiving in SLO
Good price for an above average motel in the heart of SLO. Very out of date TV. WI FI was very fast. Bath soap and shampoo was limited to only one bar of each for two adults. No local or national newspapers were available in the lobby, even for purchase!

Quite adequate
Check in was easy and quick. Parking spaces are almost non-existent, but manageable. Staff was very cordial. Facility appears to be more like a two star, but was advertised as a three star
