Disapointed

I was very disapointed when getting to our room late at night after travelling all day. The room was nothing like the pictures shown when I booked it through Cheap tickets. Everything was old and faded, and it did not smell very good. [...] The room was a definite 39 dollar room! Very disapointed.

Our stay at the Rose Garden Inn

The hotel room we stayed in was very clean. The hall to get to the room smelled a little of tobacco but once in the room the smell was gone. There was a small refridgerator in the room. Check in was fast and check out was faster. The woman at the front desk was very nice. There is a Margie's Diner right next to the hotel. This hotel is literally right off the freeway but we didn't hear traffic. It was very quiet outside and it really seemed like a peaceful little area. There is a door for entry with your key and there is also a sliding door where you can go out to the "patio" in the back. The grass was very green. Over all I thought it was a nice, relaxing hotel. We had no problems, no bad experiences, and I consider it to be a good deal for the money.

Simple and Practical

This hotel is simple and affordable. The room was clean and practical. If you're looking for a no-frills place to stay in SLO, this is it. If you want to impress someone, go elsewhere.

Sub-par for the price

I did not enjoy my stay at this inn at all. There are no elevators making it hard to make your way to the 2nd floor when you are carrying luggage. Everything installed in the room was crooked, the sink, the toilet seat, the sink nozzle. The cleaning crew kicked me out of the room at 11am, when I was under the impression that check-out was at 12pm.

Great gardens & pool but...

It was hard to find. The roses were spectacular and the pool & garden looked very nice, but the cloudy weather, which is typical for SLO did not allow us to use it. Although the front desk was friendly, the overall condition of the hotel was a worn down, outdated and in the need of some major overhaul. For example, the hall carpets strongly smelled of mustiness. I thought it was overpriced for what you got. At least it was clean.

You have to drive into town, but the shopping, especially antiques are plentiful in this town.
