Cozy overnight stay
The room had everything we needed. It seemed clean enough and we enjoyed our stay.

Minimally Adequate
Staff try hard. Not enough towels,.... and drape has a gap directed at reflection of mirror. Polyester bed covers are not my favorite, sliding off bed all the time. Area is down in the dumps across the street from nice hotels.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Denny's went out of business. Toyota and other car dealers next door in an industrial area by 101. Highlight is Home Depot down the street and AM/PM around the corner. It's fine if your expectations are not reasonably high.

Bare Bonwa
We knew the motel would be bare bone, but clean and staff friendly. It lived up to our expectations. We have stayed here before for the same reasons. We like to stay in San Luis Obispo because we are between Pismo Beach and Cayucos. We can go to Pismo Beach to the Outlets on 5 Cities Drive and Splash Restaurant for the best clam chowder and a long beach walk. We go to Morro Bay to visit the Morro Rock, Dairycreek or Morro Bay Golf Courses and Bayside Cafe or Flying Dutchman Restaurant. Plus all the shops are fun to go through. We go to Cayucos to shop for antiques and second hand stuff and walk the beach. Great fun. Eat at The Sea Shanty for good food and to view a large baseball hat collection on the ceiling. All of the mentioned towns are within 30 mins. of SLO. And each has its own style. Thursday nights be sure to go to the SLO Farmers Market at 6 p.m. Park at one of the metered lots near Higuera St. downtown, which is closed off for the evening. There is great food from local restaurants, bands and other entertainment of all kinds at intersections, public interest organizations have booths, and of course, Central Coast produce and flowers of all kinds, depending on the season. I think the market is only closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas (if on a Thursday).

Bad but what do you expect
Staff was ok to deal with. Unfortunately, since this is one of the cheaper hotels, the cliente is below marginal. It was very noisy in the first room we stayed in. It sounded like a generator was going off in my room. Not sure if it was the hotel itself or the Raider Nation family next door. People were going in and out of their rooms so we could hear everything outside and inside. Not sure if the walls have any insulation blockage of sound but it was very noisy. Thankfully, the staff let us switch rooms. Wasn't the best and was inconvenient to repack everything. I stay for business in San Luis twice/month and I will not stay at this hotel again. They should not be charging $100 on a weekend night for this place.

Surprised
We had an annual truck club show. We budget did not allow us to stay at the functions hotel. The only thing I thought was odd is that they did not have an iron or blow dryer in the room. Most hotels have them. I guess we picked the wrong hote.

Good Budget Motel close to town.
This is a good budget Motel minutes from the main attractions in San Luis Obispo. If you plan on being out in the town and not in the Motel for a good portion of your time, then this is the Motel for you!

Not bad for the price
I stayed 3 nights while at a family reunion nearby. The room was clean, and relatively quiet but the main fluorescent light overt the bathroom sink was out. I would think a cleaning person would have caught this and either fixed it or reported it to the maintenance staff. Oddly, a similar experience happened later in Lompoc Motel 6 on my 4th night in CA. The coffee in the AM was bitter, and I hate those little fake cream corn starch lighteners. A few pennies more for some half and half would go a long way. Also, I forgot to bring a tube of toothpaste and used the vending machine near the office. Located right next to the condoms, I paid $2.75 for one of those little tiny tubes of toothpaste!!! What a rip off!!! Those should be free. The staff seemed friendly, but certainly didn't go out of their way to make sure I was taken care of. I guess they are used to people just passing through or perhaps the condom buying one nighters. Altogether, the stay was about what I expected. No frills. I have paid a lot less for better places, but considering the area this was a pretty good deal.

Sightseeing tip:
Short drive from hotel
Go to Morro Bay and visit the sea lions. Bring a sweater or sweatshirt because the fog rolls in and it can get quite chilly.
