San Luis is a perfect vacation or business destination located near some of the most beautiful cities along the central coast. The drive along Highway 1 overlooking the Pacific Ocean is breathtaking and should not be missed. You may choose one of our rooms with two queen beds with a maximum occupancy of 4 or with one queen bed with a maximum occupancy of 2 adults and 1 child. You may request a room with a view of the majestic mountains if one is available. Our rooms are equipped with cable TV with HBO, wireless internet, hairdryers, iron and ironing boards. Los Padres Inn

I lived in SLO for years and probably drove by this place hundreds of times. From the exterior, it looks like a quaint, little inn where the owners really took the time and energy to make beautiful. The paint job is extremely well-done and probably repainted every two years. The landscape is equally as beautiful with a lot of obvious care taken into each planter bed. The rooms are the complete opposite of the exterior. The furniture is extremely old and cheesy. The laminate on the dresser was bubbling and beginning to peel off, exposing the particle board under it. The comforter on the bed was probably over 50 years old and had some stains. The closet was inside the bathroom. The shower head would only point in one direction and the water temperature fluctuated every ten seconds from burning hot to ice cold. To top it all off, the towels were the equivalent to sandpaper. It actually hurt to dry off. If you can, stay at another place.

Reservation not honored

After booking our reservation through Orbitz, and calling to confirm the week before, we were surprised when we tried to check in, the hotel showed our reservation for the following night! They did not have any other rooms available but did find us a room down the street. However, that hotel was very inferior. We could not sleep through the fighting couple on one side our room and the amorous couple on the other side!

Not horrible, but in no way 3 stars

Room was small, not at all like the picture and everything was really old, not a good kind of old, but a 70's, didn't know this could still be used kind of old. If you just want a place to sleep that is near down town, this should work well, but don't look to spend too much time in your room!

Are we there yet?

The hotel looked great on the outside and the owner/operators were friendly and helpful. The hotel room was tiny and run down it had a fresh coat of paint and was clean but the shower was tiny (I am 5'2") the towel bar was coming out of the wall and the heater was a portable sitting on the table. I don't know that I would rate this hotel with 3 stars as advertised.

Dining tip: Not Applicable

The hotel was not very close to many dining options. You would have to drive to the downtown area or put some good walking shoes on.
