Budget hotel offers access to California Polytechnic State University

Nice stay
Quiet, secure hotel within walking distance of downtown and Cal-Poly; 10 minute drive to Pismo Beach; 40 minute drive to Hearst Castle. Staff was friendly and professional. Clean room has full-sized ironing board/iron, hair dryer, and coffee pot. Around the corner from our room was a laundry room with full-sized washer/dryer (we didn't use them, but nice to know they were there). Complimentary continental breakfast was great: assortment of bagels, danish, whole grain bread, fruits, apple & orange juices, milk, cereals, coffee, tea, hot cocoa. My only complaint is there aren't many electrical outlets and all of them are loose - you plug something in and the plug falls right out.

Great Stay in SLO
The Days Inn is located on Monterey street near the Cal Poly school entrance. It was an easy cab ride to downtown and the room was much bigger than we expected. The pillows were very comfortable which was not the case at other local hotels. Overall, for the value it was one of the best deals in SLO.

Serves the purpose
Very friendly and efficient staff at front desk. Close to freeway and not to far from anything in this small city. The hotel grounds could use some attention, but all in all good place to stay when one needs a clean room, quiet neighborhood, and close to the college (Cal Poly)

Not my favorite
It was ok most likely won't return. Not a quiet place could hear people staying in rooms next to us as if they were in our room. the second night a tapping noise started and didn't stop for 2 hours. Coffee was delicious. Continetal breakfast was simple. we will try somewhere else next time.

Good basic value for the location
The room had all of the necessary basics for a comfortable double queen bed room. We travelled with my daughter preparing to attend Cal Poly, so we only needed a comfortable, quiet room and a good nights sleep. The morning breakfast bar was complete with fresh fruit! After breakfast--conveniently off to campus.

SLO trip
We did have to ask for towels after the room was cleaned. Other than that it's a nice place to stay. If your up to walking there is places to see and places to eat within walking distance

Pleasant Surprise
Our trip to SLO was made all the better by the excellent Days Inn we stayed at. Not having used Days Inn for a number of years, we were pleasantly delighted by how the chain had updated itself, providingus with quite eexcellent accommodation.
