Roomy accommodations in San Luis Obispo
Roughly halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco, the Best Western Somerset Inn makes for a great stopping-off point in a long journey. The rooms are big, the pool is inviting, and the continental breakfast is included in the price. A hot tub is also available to relax the muscles of tired travelers. The renovated inn is within walking distance of many attractions in the delightful city of San Luis Obispo.

Great location
We had a 2 night stay, visiting family that lives in SLO, and found this to be a good location for us to do bicycling. The hotel was quiet and the AM continental breakfast allowed us to eat before our rides. The 12:00 check-out time is very convenient. Hotels in this area are not inexpensive and this was part of a several day vacation, so we did not want to break the bank. The place was clean and good location- near downtown.

Local biking and hiking is terrific. There is a bike shop, right down the street on Monterey, with free maps and friendly staff.

MANDONNA INN FOR THERE SPECIAL CAKES. CARROT CAKE IS WORLD CLASS . THE BEST!!! EVERY TRIP I TAKE ONE HOME.

Just an over night
This was nothing special just you average run of the mill room it was clean and they had a hot tub which was nice after a day of the road.

It's OK
On the road of motels, this one is OK. It's clean and comfortable. If you want a place to sleep at night, it's fine. Our only complaint was the motorcycles that make quite a bit of noise in the morning. Otherwise, it's not fancy, but it's nice.

Hotel was ok for a night or two but woman on front desk was deplorable. Her unsmiling nasty personality has no place in hospitality. She seemed only interested in the TV and not helping her cutomers.

Let's start at the start. Guy at the desk blows into room card holder before putting the key in. I don't want random stranger germs/breath on my room keys that I have to carry around me. This is gross. Make no mistake, this is a MOTEL, rooms facing inwards to a parking lot. Rooms are dark and very dated, odd cabinets that do not appear meant for a motel/hotel, and very strange bathroom that appear as if they were lifted from a cruise ship (very narrow and odd shaped). Beds are springy and not particular comfortable. Breakfast is worst than your usual continental faire and in a very tight space. I get that San Luis Obispo has a generally poor supply of quality hotel rooms, but despite perhaps the lower price, this place should likely still be avoided.

lacking a lot
very bare minimum motel. no fitness center, thin walls, stark decor, nothing cozy at all, just the very basics. Don't plan to sleep if you are a light sleeper at all as you can hear everything that goes on outside the door and in the surrounding rooms. Breakfast is also not worth even going to.
