La Quinta Inn San Jose Airport

This property in mid-way through a renovation. The lobby has recently been re-done (as seen in their web site pictures) and is very pleasant. My room (#275), not so much... Worn out carpets, some peeling paint, slightly torn and frayed bed sheets, and a large water stain on the ceiling. The property abuts the highway and shares a parking lot with the Burger King drive through so it's got a pretty industrial feel. Now given that this property is in the heart of Silicon Valley, I guess you'd have to call the price a "bargain" but if you have a few extra dollars to spend, I'd recommend you spend them elsewhere. On the plus side, the staff was professional, helpful and friendly.

The room wasn't spectacular, but for the price, it was very comfortable. The staff were so helpful and friendly, and that means everything.

Check-in listed on this website is incorrect; it says 1pm but when I arrived at 1:45 to check in, they said that their check-in time is actually 3pm and to come back then. Room was quite comfortable. Was skeptical about staying while construction was going on... Sure enough, after the first night awakened by loud drilling. Notified the front desk and they quickly switched us to a different room further away from the construction. The room I reserved was with a king bed; however we got a queen. Not a big deal. Love their pets policy, however. Have a very well behaved dog who always travels with us; nice not having to pay extra to have her in the room.

I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the San Jose Airport. I had an early morning flight and wanted to be nearby the airport. If you want to be near the airport there are numerous choices so DO NOT pick this one. Front desk staff...unresponsive. Room...DIRTY. Had to move the night stands to reach a plug and almost puked at the dirt behind them. TV: from 1975. Horrible picture...off color. Doing some work in the hallways...not warned about the construction. Hallways and carpets filthy. Requested a ground floor room...got second floor. I could go on and on...you get the picture.

The staff was good to work with. I was not able to reach the front desk from my room phone for some reason. Would have liked an indoor pool or hot tub. The free breakfast was great and location close to the airport was great, but of course you can hear the airplanes landing and taking off...not a problem if you're not a light sleeper. The room I stayed in needed some updating, but for what you pay for the room it's a good value. Great for someone traveling alone, but wouldn't have stayed somewhere nicer if my wife came with me.

This was very convenient. But, I had a problem through cheap tickets. I was suppoe to get free parking as cheap tickets said I would but, I had to pay for parking, Next time I will book directly to hotel.
