The Fairmont downtown San Jose is a nice hotel for a short weekend getaway. Friendly staff that was very helpful and always willing to answer any questions. Location is central with many restaurants and museums within walking distance. If you do
plan to eat a meal at a nearby restaurant be sure to go early, many do not have late night hours.
Tip: if visiting on weekend, street parking is cheap and free all day Sunday's and after 6pm. Way cheaper than Valet.
Overall a great stay and will stay again.
The room and amenity were awesome. However, service was terrible. I am an avid coffee drinker. My room was missing a coffee maker so I requested for one. 1.5 hours later, I fell asleep waiting for it and I still didn't get the maker. I requested
it the next day again and they finally got it to me. Completely ridiculous!
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short drive from hotel
Santana Row has awesome food. Strait is highly recommended.
Location proved ideal for the downtown business I conducted.
Step right outside the door to lightrail service, if needed, and several restaurants. Also close to convention related business.
Be prepared for the typical high cost for valet
parking. Other options are limited.
Free live music most nights in hotel, great sales in gift shop, good food on site, good restaurants within steps, train 2 blks away, quick valet turnaround on car, great looking hotel inside, roomy rooms
