4 stars minus 2 for two big issues!

Location and price are a very good fit for casual business travelers (small business owner, conference attendees, etc.) The good: - Location (near Powell St. BART station, easy walk to Moscone) - Price is fair - Small but complete fitness room The bad: - TV did not work (nice 40" LCD though...) - Noise! Work crew starts at 6:00 am - street noise is pretty bad too

Villa Florence

I like the Italian coffee bar, the classy lobby and restaurant at this hotel. The room was fine and not as quiet as last time. Very clean and comfortable. The beds are great. Most of all, location, location, location. This is right off of Union Square, remodeled and a favorite place to stay with great rates. The desk staff helped me a great deal with airport arrangements.

Villa Florence, a home away from home

The hotel is around the corner from Union Square, walking distance to major theaters and has Kuleto's, an excellent restaurant. Valet parking (in and out) for $40/day is a bargain in downtown SF and being able to take the car out is a big plus. We'll definitely stay there again.

Great location

This was a two day get away as a Christmas present to each other. We do this every year and try a different hotel each time but they are usually right around Union Square. The Villa is right accross the street from Macy's. The hotel is 101 years old but has had a lot of renovation. The staff was very friendly and the hotel has it's own bar and restaurant although we didn't try them. Make sure you ask for a quiet room. Ours was on the street side and there is a lot of noise during the night.

Great location and good stay!

When we arrived we were greeted by the people at the front desk. There was no wait and they gave us a map of the location and things to do while we were there. They spent time with us going over the map and telling us about all the events that would take place that week. They also gave us a list of favorite places to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We felt very welcomed upon arrival! The room was fine...a little on the small side for the amount of money you pay. Closet is very small, so don't try to unpack everything. Bathroom was small too but had great products! Overall our room was very clean, quiet, and bed was comfortable! We were only in it to sleep so it did not matter that much. The location made up for it! You are close to everything! Great restaurants, shopping, and sight seeing. We would stay here again, because of the wonderful bar and restaurant, location, and staff!
