Boutique hotel captures the vibrant, eclectic spirit of San Francisco
Only in San Francisco would a hotel so seamlessly combine art, popular culture, a green sensibility and cozy guest rooms. Conceived in the 1990s by nine San Francisco artists, Triton, a Kimpton Hotel has the feel of ancient Rome as seen through the eyes of Salvador Dali. Imagine a bright blue and orange floral pattern in an expansive lobby mural; a shiny purple upholstered lounge next to a mosaic-framed fireplace. These and other one-of-a-kind spaces make Triton, a Kimpton Hotel a memorable choice.Highlights
- Original artwork throughout guest rooms and common areas
- Across the street from the Chinatown Dragon Gate
- Freshly baked cookies at 3 p.m. daily
- Eco-friendly rooms and celebrity-designed suites
- Valet parking with in/out privileges available (fees apply)
Rooms
Celebrity suites at Triton, a Kimpton Hotel embody the personalities of the stars who designed them. Garcia Suite by Jerry Garcia, featuring many of the late, great musician's watercolor paintings and an autographed wall. Additional accommodation includes eco-premier kings, each with a special theme such as Happy Planet or The Trust for Public Land. Pets are welcome at the Triton, a Kimpton Hotel at no additional charge. Allergy-free/pet-free rooms are available as well.

Short walk from hotel
If you're coming from the airport save yourself $40 and take Bart. It leaves you only a short walking distance away and, if there is any traffic, is a lot faster and cheaper than a cab.

Great location, good staff, small rooms.
We had a wonderful one-night stay while showing relatives San Francisco. We checked in in the evening. It's a great neighborhood to be in at night, very safe. You start the morning by having coffee in the lobby or across the street at Starbucks, then you walk out of the the hotel turn right and walk two blocks into Chinatown. See the sights and have a dim sum lunch before touring the rest of the city.

Cute Little Hotel in SF
The hotel was great! They have unique decor throughout the whole hotel, and complimentary wine in the lobby from 5-6PM if you're into that. The room was cute, bed was comfy, had a nice bathroom, there was desk with info about SF. The location couldn't have been better, China town is less than one block away, shopping is surrounding you and union square is walking distance. The staff were super friendly and helpful, I even forgot an item in the room after I checked out and the housekeeping lady said she had it for me! My stay here couldn't have gone better!

Loved the stay!
We stayed at the Trition for a weekend and loved it! The room was clean and comfortable. Very good value for the room, however, if you're planning on watching a movie in the room be prepared to pay quiet a hefty amount! Basically anything extra will cost you quiet a bit. Room service is clean, staff is very helpful and friendly and best of all...the location! You're located right in between the french district and chinatown. There are many cute french restaurants around the hotel, some of which offer live jazz while you're dining. The hotel is a few minutes away from union square and the bart. I would definitely recommend the Trition! Oh and make sure to try out the breakfast at Cafe Claude, the french bakery next door!

Room was Cold
Everything was good except the room was cold and there was no way to make it warmer. The airconditioning's hot setting didn't really help, and the staff couldn't help beyond telling me to use AC. Otherwise, the room was comfortable.

Great experience! Such a great atmosphere and so welcoming. The staff were awesome and always willing to help in any way (helping with luggage, taxis, and directions, etc.) Would highly recommend staying at Hotel Triton and it is located in an area with easy access to so many great places like China Town, Old Saint Mary's Cathedral, Union Square, and the Trolley Cars to Fisherman's Warf.
