Legendary Union Square hotel combines comfort, class
The Westin St. Francis is the only hotel that actually sits on Union Square. The main building dates back to 1904, and many public areas boast the ornate columns, intricate woodwork and other design elements from this era. Perhaps the property's most famous feature is its Magenta Grandfather Clock, a popular place for people to meet. Today the property comprises two separate buildings: the historic main building and a newer tower. Three on-site restaurants offer a host of dining options.

Well ubicated but...
The hotel is in the center of San Francisco [close to almost everything], the staff is professional and the rooms are clean. BUT the building is really old [really noisy rooms] and the regulars rooms are really, really too small.

"Fantastic Romantic Getaway

Beautiful hotel, great location!
This hotel is gorgeous. We got an amazing deal on Orbitz and the value was great. We opted for an upgraded room with a view and I think that was a wise choice. We had never been to San Francisco and this was a perfect location. The hotel is very close to all of the best shopping in Union Square, and close to all forms of transportation and restaurants. We arrived early in the morning and were allowed to check in for no additional charge. I would HIGHLY reccommend the Westin St. Francis to anyone visiting San Francisco and I will stay there in the future. The one and only thing I will say that stopped my stay from being flawless was the fact that my boyfriend needed to send a fax and in the htoel's business office the charge would have been $4 for the first page and $2.00 for every other page. We walked and found an open print shop instead of paying for a $16 fax. I've stayed at Holiday Inn's where they fax things for free...

Take a taxi or the BART from the airport rather than the hotel's shuttles if you are traveling with at least two people. A taxi is about $36. The BART is $16.50 each and only a block away. The hotel's shuttles are $17.50 each and take forty five minutes to an hour. Big time killer...

Good times
The location could not have been better. Easy access to shopping and main roads for exploration. The staff was friendly and very helpful.

Ask concierge about local dining. All recommendations were great. Except we were directed away from the ocean beach to the west but found it beautiful at sunset. Cliff House is pretty good but a long way across town.

Stunning
This was the "perfect" location overlooking union square. If lucky enough to have a top floor your able to view the city in a glass elevator that is on the outside of the hotel. Between the view, specatular staff and a gorgeous hotel, it was also conveniently located near the Bart transportation and has the trolly right out the front door. Amazing...

Because this is located in the heart of the "fashion" district, you're able to walk to any store your little heart desires. Shopping ranges from Tiffany's and Saks to Sketchers so there's something for everyone.

No hassle booking Great Job Orbitz :)
People were friendly and they my room was not taken nor they have any troubles finding me in their system last family trip i took. they could not find me on their system, the hotel was so full i endedup getting a handycap room. Not fun Thank you orbits for the no hassle experiense

You are only a short walk to many great attractions and sights...or it is just a short right to the Muni Trains which are inexpensive and fast!

San Francisco expat
Remarkable romantic retreat
A completely pleasant getaway - beautiful room with fantastic bed, wonderful shower, very nice amenities. The only real nits were a bit of a line to check in, and only one robe in the closet. The location right on Union Square can't be beat. Note that rooms can be different sizes, so if they give you a choice on check-in, look at the floor plan carefully.
