Sophisticated urban oasis with sweeping views in SoMa's Museum Row

Formerly known as the Argent, the Westin San Francisco Market Street has been rebranded over the course of the last decade. The result: a sophisticated, urban oasis in the middle of what locals call Museum row, a stretch that includes the Yerba Buena Center for the Performing Arts and the Contemporary Jewish Museum. Both the lobby and guest rooms are sleek and modern; art in public areas is from Roy Lichtenstein and other iconic artists. Ducca, the on-site restaurant, serves contemporary Northern Italian food and has a lively bar scene on weekends.

Highlights
  • Impressive array of public art by artists such as David Hockney and Roy Lichtenstein
  • Within walking distance of Moscone Convention Center
  • Cocktails and Italian cuisine at Ducca, the on-site restaurant
  • Complimentary guided walking tours
Rooms

Single guy getaway

Location! Location! Location! Conviniently located to 2 BART stations so it was easy to get from SFO to the hotel, there's a cable car stop a block away, CVS, Walgreens all down the street on Market Street and the Westfield Mall is 4 blocks down. As for the hotel itself, my room was very clean and spacious. Although I workout regularly, I didn't use the gym (hey I was on a weekend getaway and wanted to use my time to see the city). Staff was very helpful, the concierge booked me on a tour bus right inside the lobby. The only thing I didn't like was their breakfast buffet. It does not include omelets or Belgian waffles. For $25, I think it should have. Other than that, I would definitely recommend it.

Nice location, not a warm staff

I didn't feel welcomed by any of the front desk staff. No one (event the housekeeper) said hello to me in passing or even acknowledged me.

Great Location & Price!!

The location of the hotel was great. We couldn't decide whether to stay near the Wharf or in the City. So happy we chose the city! A must is to experience & take cable car to Wharf, then go to Buena Vista for the best Irish Coffee! In the city we went shopping, shopping, shopping! Our friends recommended the Daily Grill. We went there 3x's. Happy Hour dailly from 3pm - 6pm. Great drinks & appetizers. Dinner's are delicious! Bartender the best! Ate the best breakfast next door at an Irish Pub. The hostess at the restaurant located in hotel was very rude. We refused to eat there but we didn't let that spoil our trip.
