Sophisticated urban oasis with sweeping views in SoMa's Museum Row
Formerly known as the Argent, the Westin San Francisco Market Street has been rebranded over the course of the last decade. The result: a sophisticated, urban oasis in the middle of what locals call Museum row, a stretch that includes the Yerba Buena Center for the Performing Arts and the Contemporary Jewish Museum. Both the lobby and guest rooms are sleek and modern; art in public areas is from Roy Lichtenstein and other iconic artists. Ducca, the on-site restaurant, serves contemporary Northern Italian food and has a lively bar scene on weekends.
Highlights
- Impressive array of public art by artists such as David Hockney and Roy Lichtenstein
- Within walking distance of Moscone Convention Center
- Cocktails and Italian cuisine at Ducca, the on-site restaurant
- Complimentary guided walking tours

My review of The Westin San Francisco Market Street
We wish the hotel offers courtesy shuttle from and back to airport. It was disappointed that such a fine hotel without this needed amenity. The fan was on all night that we were not able to shut it down and was told there's no solution for it. The hotel is kind of pricey in consideration even with the shuttle service.

FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE
The only issue we had was with the bartender on sunday Morning (08/31/08). While attempting to purchase coffee at the bar area of the dining room, we asked the bartender if the coffee was free, his respond to us was, read the sign, it $4.00. We where taken aback to this very unfriendly and curt respond. Fortunately, a female staff noticed us and help us with out coffee. It was not the cost of the coffee but how we where responded to.

Nice but thin walls
A very nice hotel by appearance, but the walls are very thin. I could hear every time the neighboring room turned on the water, took a shower etc. The noise from the hallway woke me up several times.

My review of The Westin San Francisco Market Street
very small room with a king bed, no view, very small bathroom right as you enter the room. Business center closed Sat and Sun. Helpful concierge and he makes the stay at that hotel much more pleasant.

My review of The Westin San Francisco Market Street
The Westin San Francisco is in a brilliant location as it is within walking distance to Union square and main shopping district. I have stayed in many Westin Hotels located around the world and the staff are always so helpful , however this was the eception as the front desk staff were far from helpful in fact they were just far too busy to care. This is not the usual standards of this hotel group from my eperience. Our toilet was blocked which can happen, we were charged $18 dollars when wew requested a jug of milk to use in the coffee provided in our room(charge was later removed). We were over charged for 8 additional mini bar items not used ,when we questioned these charges we were told that there is a sensor pad in the mini bar fridge that detects when you even move a bottle. (charges were again removed). These are not things i would expect from the Westin as i have always raved about how the beds, staff and service have been brilliant in other locations.

Hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating. I did not use any of the hotel facilities as I had a late check in and did not use the facilities in the morning. The hotel was great in a beautiful area and had great views. I would definitely stay there again.

Excellent location with spacious rooms
This hotel was very luxurious and tucked away right in a corner on Market Street, no more than 2 mins away from Union Square. The room was very spacious with huge and extremely comfortable beds. My dog was very well accepted, and we had an excellent time. Street parking was ample and that allowed us to save $50/day on valet parking. The only drawback was that there was no free wi-fi internet, and internet usage was $7 at the business office. A little strange since there are alot of business people who seem to reside here. Overall, we were very pleased and would definitely stay here again.

Great location
The Westin Market Street was very comfortable, the room was spacious with a large dresser, in-room refrigerator, flat panel television and workspace. You could not ask for a better location, convenient to the MTA lines, several restaurants and great shopping!
