Sophisticated urban oasis with sweeping views in SoMa's Museum Row
Formerly known as the Argent, the Westin San Francisco Market Street has been rebranded over the course of the last decade. The result: a sophisticated, urban oasis in the middle of what locals call Museum row, a stretch that includes the Yerba Buena Center for the Performing Arts and the Contemporary Jewish Museum. Both the lobby and guest rooms are sleek and modern; art in public areas is from Roy Lichtenstein and other iconic artists. Ducca, the on-site restaurant, serves contemporary Northern Italian food and has a lively bar scene on weekends.
Highlights
- Impressive array of public art by artists such as David Hockney and Roy Lichtenstein
- Within walking distance of Moscone Convention Center
- Cocktails and Italian cuisine at Ducca, the on-site restaurant
- Complimentary guided walking tours

Pet Hotel and Overpriced Valet
When we arrived, they gave us a room on the 8th floor which we soon discovered was the "pet floor". There were dogs barking and our room smelled like urine. We complained and they did give us a nicer, bigger room on the 9th floor but nothing to write home about. Also, if you plan on parking an oversized vehicle, park in the lot across the street or Jessies garage behind the hotel. They charged us $71 to valet our truck for 12 hrs! Since it was over the holidays we had no other choice- all the other garages were closed. And it still took them almost an hour to retrieve it.

Upscale attitude but only fair value
Rooms in San Francisco are all expensive, so the Westin is no exception. But while it has an air of being more expensive at the lobby level, the rooms are only average in terms of amenities and comfort. The best features are the floor to ceiling windows offering stunning views of the City; the comfortable linens; and the very quiet and efficient HVAC system. The bathroom and furnishings are nothing special whatsoever. And the ridiculous snack tray can't be moved because it's electronically tethered so you have to stare at a mini-mart on the dresser of your $250+ per night hotel room.

After spending a long day exploring SF and seeing the Blue Angels for Fleet Week, it was a luxury to return to such a comfortable, spacious, and friendly hotel. The concierge staff were extremely helpful with suggestions and directions. The room was impeccable and provided everything we needed. Great location! Attractions were within walking distance, or you can hop on a bus or cable car.

Westin - San Fran
The Westin is a very nice and modern hotel. We had a corner room which was shaped like a triangle, so it was a little small. Hotel parking was like $50 a day, but what do you expect parking is at a premium in major city areas. There are a few parking lots in the area that are more affordable. The concierge had a problem getting us tickets due to their computers not working. They went out their way to help us and also gave us a $40 bar credit for the inconvenience. I would stay here again.

Good location, good hotel, nice stay
The large windows with great views were the highlight of the hotel. All in all, it's a good hotel, not a great one but a good one and nothing really to complain about but at the same time nothing too much to blow you away. Convenient location for downtown SF without being in the horrible theater area and it's dodgy clientele. Would stay there again
