Great location

The location was great and walking distance to many good restaurants and some tourist sites. Our room was right on California St., so it was pretty noisy and difficult sleeping. Next time we will ask for a room on the court side of the hotel if possible.

Great option atop nob hill!

I live this part of san francisco. Far enough away from the chaos of union square but close enough to everything with out being right in it. I will definetly be staying here again. There was a pretty surly guy at the front desk but didn't bother me that much because there were two very sweet gals who made up for him!

Well Run Nob Hill Hotel

Very warm and friendly greeting upon check -in. Moved me to a high floor when I asked for quiet. Rooms very comfortable and sensibly laid out. I was really impressed that they only charged a buck for bottled water in your rooms. I actually drank it, unlike the absurdly priced waters at other high star hotels. Lots of other little touches that made it clear they know their business. Work out room is not huge but has new and the right array of equipment. Again, very thoughtfully executed. I recommend not using their parking because of cost and simply walking two blocks north to Taylor St where the Masonic Center parking lot (open 24 hours) another are much cheaper. Will stay here again.

Great option in SF

To sum it up: great location, great staff, beautiful hotel. Details: Located at California and Powell, next to other 5 star hotels, so location is premium. Walking distance from Union Square. Breakfast setup is basic and somewhat pricey, but you can walk to one of the diners down the street, 2-3 blocks away. I walked to the Moscone Center and meetings at SOMA; it's a 25 min walk, and coming back it's uphill (steep!), but if you like walking like I do, it's fine. My room faced Powell and was a bit noisy but the view of city was amazing. Loved it and will definitely come back!

Business stayover

A very good hotel, rooms were a little small considering the price, but thats most of the hotels in the city, staff was awesome. The hotel is a short walk to good bars and food, hotel lounge is a little pricey but drinks and food were good. Hotel is on top of a steep hill unless you are in good shape either use taxi or rail car. Overall I would stay again if visiting the city.

Great Hotel with CHEAP price

Our room is very spacious and has good amenities. Close to chinatown. Definitely recommend to everyone. The car rental of the hotel is EXTREMELY cheap, cheaper than AVIS and BUDGET.
