Great Downtown Locale
The Pickwick Hotel is a great location for staying downtown. It is close to shopping, restaurants, theater and BART/Muni. The hotel is old but charming. The rooms, especially the beds, are very comfortable and inviting. I will be returning when I need to stay the night in the City.

Great overall
This is an older hotel that is well maintained and clean. The staff were very informative and kind. They made the stay even more pleasant! The location is wonderful and value great!

Good Hotel, Great Location
The staff went above and beyond. Greg at the front desk called my cell phone when the room was ready. They were quick to hail a cab. The rooms are quaint and obviously an older hotel but they maintain it well. They were replacing carpets in the main area and stairs. Overall, it was a nice week long stay. No complaints!

great location
The room is tiny and old, but clean. The hotel is located in the middle of evertything- close to shopping, dining, entertainment, and somewhat away from the areas filled with homeless crowd. It's a good deal for your buck. Would stay there again.

Great Location
Location, Location, Location! That is the best part about this place. It is right in the middle of the shopping district and ~1 mile from the wharf and very close to all types of public transportation. It was updated nicely despite the age of the hotel. It wasn't as roomy as I am used to, but not bad. A small family would be comfortable enough and the price was great compared to several other hotels right next door. I would stay again.

Great location
Small room and bath, but very clean. Older hotel with charm, but big city ambiance. Great location close to all muni transportation and great shopping! Could use continental breakfast. 1 cup coffee maker makes good coffee,but a bite to eat would make the stay. Staff helpful.

Friendly staff, good location
I stayed at the Pickwick during trade show at the Moscone center. Location was great for business - SFO to Bart to Powell, then 1 block to hotel and 1 block to convention center. Tourists might prefer other locations near wharf or embarcadero. Staff was very friendly and professional, including housekeeper! Lobby and rooms were small and traditional but functional. Free WiFi never hurts. No ooh-aah lobby or night life but easy access to such venues. Overall, good value and I would visit again.

Walk north and east to restaurants, shopping, union square, cable cars, etc. Avoid going west to 6th street at night.

Not the sort of place I would personally choose to take a holiday in but it functioned perfectly well for a place to crash at the end of a busy conference day. WiFi works well for general browsing but streaming content is a little too taxing for it.

Great for the Price and Location!
Room was clean and modern. Free WIFI that worked. A short walk to BART, Cable Cars, Trolley, & Buses. Easy walk to Moscone Center. Will stay there again.

Excellent location, friendly staff
I only stayed for two nights, but the staff was on the front desk 24 hours so a late arrival and very early departure were not an issue.
