Seafood crazy
OK but.....
Staff are very helpful and friendly. Our first room was opposite an elevator door and we were moved the following day to a larger room with cable TV. The Opal hotel is located on a busy street so rooms suffer from internal or external noise so take your pick!! Hotel was not as central as expected for sightseeing although well serviced by public transport.

travelled round the world
Seedy location, not kept up, a bit scary
the hotel reminded me of what u get on foreign vacation packages. old and interesting but not kept up. people having sex and urinating outside the window on the street. i wouldnt bring my kids here and 200$ a night was overpriced. the sheets were rough and the carpet worn thru. conotinental breakfast not worth the wait.

Great hotel for the price
Nice lobby and a very pleasant staff. The rooms are clean and the shower is polished. However, the room smelled like your grandparents house, not sure why... Overall it was a nice and quite hotel and I would recommend it for the barging hunters.

Okay experience
Staff were nice and informative, hotel was in okay condition(relatively old), location was good if you can bypass the homeless people.

Satisfactory but nothing special
Didn't really feel like a three star hotel. Room was pretty small. But for the price the stay was fine, just nothing to write home about.

Good location, Great price, Nice hotel
Good location to go any place you want to go. Nice hotel for a great price, and the stuff just polite. No wonder, the hotel looks busy with a lot travelers, mostly from French. Rooms big, bathroom clean, and you feel safe in the hotel

The Opal
The room is avarage however is very clean. it has everything you need. What I love about it is the location! Great Location everything you need is right out the door! its also near all the must see's in San Francisco! would Def stay tehre again! best room for the Price!!

Alright value for it's price
This hotel is okay for it's age, you can tell that the building it old, so don't expect nice smell or shiny furniture. But the location is great, customer service was also great. The bathroom is renovated and clean which is a plus. This is a downtown location so parking is a pain. They offer hotel parking for a couple of tens of dollars a day :( For the most part this hotel provides very decent value for the cost.
