Booked this stay at the Hotel Monaco only to arrive to the new The Marker! No longer a Kimpton, but they still offered some of the same perks like wine o'clock (thumbs up!) and coffee and tea bar in the morning. Just wish I had some notice as we drove by several times confused as heck. When I booked, there was a picture of a spa with a jacuzzi which I was really looking forward to. That was under renovation with the new management. :( Also, internet issues the entire 3 day stay. Other than that, great location, clean, cute, staff was really nice.

Comfortable Business Trip

Overall, a beautiful hotel with helpful staff and trendy, but tasteful decor. The Monaco provides nice amenities for a vacation (i.e. complimentary happy hour, a yoga mat, and dog biscuits for your furry travel buddy). The room includes ample outlets to charge your devices (being near Silicon Valley has its perks). However, the hotel lacks amenities for a business traveler. Room service is only available for breakfast, and can only be delivered at select times. You can pick up lunch and dinner from an on-site restaurant (which is a minor inconvenience). However, due to the limited room service offerings & the lack of in-room coffeemakers, I needed to leave for my return flight without coffee :-/ …If there was a Keurig in my room, I would gladly give the Monaco an additional star for amenities. Nonetheless, I would recommend the Monaco to someone traveling for pleasure, rather than for work.

Great location

This hotel was very conveniently located in San Francisco. Between the complimentary bike rental and the volume of Uber drivers, even the items that were further away were still easy to get to. The staff was very friendly & helpful and the room was very clean.

beautiful hotel. i thought the initial price was great but hotel parking was $54/night, making the value just average. also, i forgot toothpaste, had to pay $6 for a small tube, kinda annoying considering how expensive hotel is

Would definitely stay again

The Monaco was a friend's recommendation, and we had a great stay! The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to answer all our questions and anticipate our needs. At the reception desk, Jonathan knew our names and room number after the first day and was the epitome of customer service. When we asked for a place to go New Year's Eve, Austin, also working reception, called friends to find exactly what we were looking for. The complimentary Continental breakfast and afternoon wine were also big hits. Rooms aren't large as some we have seen, but it was plenty of room. The bed was very comfortable. We would stay here again.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

The street car turnaround is right down the street, and the wait is LONG!!!! Don't wait! Walk a short distance up the street (Powell Street) and hop on. You can save yourself about an hour's wait time!

great business trip!

I stayed here for three nights this past week. Its located very near Union Square and all the fabulous shopping you might want. The rooms are very clean and the hotel staff both accommodating and knowledgeable. The hotel itself is a beautiful space. The exercise room is decent--could use heavier weights and better air circulation. Are there any cons? Not as far as I could tell!

Fun, Unique Hotel in Great Location

The room was so fun and uniquely decorated - also very comfortable. We also loved the complimentary pastry and fruit in the morning. They were from a local bakery I think and very delicious. Fun cocktail hour with free wine from 5-6pm too! We also noticed you could borrow bikes from the hotel for free. We did not take advantage of this though because our trip was short. This hotel is in a fantastic location too - very close to the cable car line that goes to fisherman's wharf. Close to fun shopping, dining, and chinatown too. We will be back.
