One night stay before visiting with local family. Clean room, nice linens. Front desk pleasant. Continental breakfast would have been nice addition especially at this price.

Charming Hotel in a Great city
The Laurel Inn is in a convenient location. The room was large enough and comfortable. The breakfast was an adequate continental or across the street is a great place to eat. San Francisco weather is a wonderful break in a hot summer. Picasso at the de Young and Stein Collect at SFMOMA made for an outstanding trip.

Clean and comfortable
Friendly helpful staff, very clean and comfortable inn. Rooms spacious and generous breakfast provided, as well as fresh oven hot cookies at around 3! Overall great value for money. It is far from downtown, the wharf etc but suited us as close to friends we were visiting.

Great Hotel/Problem Checking In
Great San Francisco hotel where I stay a lot, but there was no record of my pre-paid [...]reservation at the hotel when I checked in. Fortunately, I had the printed copy of my [...]confirmation with me and they gave me a room, but if no rooms had been available, it might have been very stressful.

I will stay again
This beautiful little boutique hotel is right in the heart of a neighborhood boasting delightful shops and restaurants. Inside you are welcomed by a staff that wants to insure your stay is as pleasant as can be. There is always fresh coffee, snacks and even lemonade in the heat of the day. I noticed it was extremely animal friendly with dog treats at the front desk. The room was beautiful in a calming simple design with all the amenities of a larger hotel. There is no question that I would stay again.

Ellas is right across the street and a great place to get a delicious breakfast. And not far away on Sacramento St your choices are among the best in San Francisco. We dined at the Magic Flute and enjoyed one of the most delightful dinners we have had in the city.

Nice stay for one night
We stayed at the Laurel Inn just for New Year's Eve. When we checked in, there were a couple people lined up at the desk in front of us and the phone was ringing often. There is only room at the front desk for one person, and all the commotion was a little unnerving for them. However, they handled themselves well and was pretty quick to handle everyone's needs. Luckily we checked in right at the time they had warm cookies, lemonade, coffee, and tea available in the lobby. This is a nice touch that is available every day in the late afternoon. Our room turned out to be 2 double beds instead of 1 king and was facing the street (Presidio). It was also the room right next to the elevator and stairwell, which turned out to be extremely noisy in the morning. I imagine these rooms are given for the discounted rates. Even still, the room was nice and clean and the beds are comfortable. The bathroom was clean as well, though the towels are a little on the small and rough side. All in all, we had a good stay, and would definitely stay there again, though I would recommend requesting a room away from the elevator/stairs and not on the street side if you are affected by noise.

The Laurel Inn is a gem
The Laurel Inn is a gem of a place in a great neighborhood, which has terrific shops and excellent restaurants. The staff at Laurel is helpful but unobtrusive and the continental breakfast is better than expected. The only issue we had was that the exterior walls and windows are not sound proof, which meant that street noises (cars and trucks)made it tough to sleep the first night.

nice hotel with cool style and bar, our roomwas on the 2nd floor faceing the street with single pane windows so there was a bit of street noise all night. Otherwise no complaints.
