Whimsical luxury at centrally located Fisherman's Wharf hotel

Bright colors and bold patterns characterized a 2009 renovation at the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf hotel. The result is a light-hearted, whimsical interior certain to make guests smile. A new lobby lounge provides the perfect spot for an afternoon snack (or drink); while the open-air "living room" is a great spot for guests to gather around fire pits on chilly nights. The property is within walking distance to attractions in the area, including Pier 39, Ghirardelli Square and ferries to Alcatraz Island.

Highlights
  • Located near Fisherman's Wharf
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi and high-speed Internet access
  • Huddle with friends around outdoor fire pits on cold nights
Rooms

Color is a central theme in the hotel's 531 rooms. Accent pillows are pink and blue; carpets have tones to match. All accommodations come standard with Sheraton "Sweet Sleeper" beds, flat-screen televisions and coffee-makers. All rooms include complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access; high-speed Internet is available as well (fees apply). Pets welcome (fees apply).

Features

After completing a $33-million renovation in 2009, the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf redoubled its conservation efforts. The hotel now implements water-saving shower heads, compact fluorescent lights and thermostat control systems that power down HVAC units when rooms are unoccupied.

Hotel guests receive complimentary access to the on-site fitness center and 24-hour business center as well as the outdoor heated pool. Same-day laundry and dry-cleaning services also are available (fees apply).

In the lobby, guests have two dining options. The Sol Breakfast Cafe serves breakfast daily from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Spressi Martini & Sushi Bar serves lunch and dinner dishes daily until 11 p.m.. Guests are encouraged to enjoy food in the lobby or outside, by fire pits on the outdoor patio dubbed the "living room."

Enjoyable business and pleasure trip

the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf is in an excellent location for both tourists and those who are in the city on business, as it is close to major attractions and to the downtown area. It might be problematic though for light sleepers because the hotel is on a trolley line and these start running very early in the morning. The noise woke me up every day. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and spacious. The staff is courteous and very helpful. The gym is adequately equipped, although it gets very crowded early in the morning as it is rather small, given the size of the hotel. Beware of the internet charges, as these are not free in the rooms. I would go back to this hotel and recommend it mostly to those seeking a fun touristic experience.

Anniversary

We were married at the Sheraton and come back every year in February. The hotel and staff are excellent, we wouldn't stay anywhere else at Fisherman's Wharf! The Concierge Jennifer and Bellman Jason are wonderful and excel in Customer Service.

Excellent Location in SF

Location is perfect for visiting the wharf shops and restaurants, Ghirardelli, Pier 39, and Fort Mason. Many other attractions like Coit Tower, Union Square and AT&T Park are walkable within a couple of miles (depending on how far you like to walk - or you can take a cab). Nice lobby bar that serves snacks and outdoor seating with fire pits. Nice pool area. Safe to walk in the immediate vicinity, hotel elevators require a room key to access floors 2 through 4 which is a good security feature. It's nice to have parking right below the hotel. Lobby staff was nice. My suggestion would be to request the 4th floor as we unfortunately had some very heavy-footed guests above our 2nd floor room and they seemed to be stomping for an hour until about midnight and at it again at 7am which was completely annoying but not the fault of the hotel. The gentleman cashier at the counter where you can purchase snacks, cocktails, etc. was extremely rude and had zero people skills which was disappointing - and I don't think he was just having a bad day, I'm pretty sure he is on auto pilot. Overall though, for the price, you can't beat it.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Wander along the path toward Fort Mason and see incredible views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Keep going and see the "Great Meadow" which is a nice place to sit on the grass and relax and watch people play games and run their dogs. Very relaxing and another view of the GGB that you don't often see.

Awesome location for Touring

Hotel was great! Cold hallways due to open breezeways, but rooms are very comfortable, clean, and have just about everything you could need (other than a mini fridge and microwave). 1 block from Fisherman's Wharf, Cable cars, convenience stores (for the forgotten toothbrush), and tourist shopping. Way more than enough eateries! Had a great time and the concierge helped make it a wonderful stay.

Not a satisfied customer

I requested to be placed in a quieter room, but instead I was placed on the first floor next to a vending machine, ice machine and entrance door, I did not have a good sleep because i could hear the footsteps above us. On top of it all, the comforter sheets were dusty.

Vacation

Excellent location to the Wharf and Pier 39. Love the outdoor fireplaces. Was a nice place to sit & have a drink and visit. The decor of the rooms was pretty ugly in my opinion, but modern just isn't my style. Room was clean and comfortable. Was a bit spendy though, and then you gotta pay for parking too, but we did know this before staying here, so it wasn't a surprise. If it's in my price range at the time, i would stay here again.
