Almost perfect
This hotel is conveniently located in downtown San Francisco. I was in town for a family event so don't know about meeting rooms or other such amenities, but the hotel was luxurious and well worth the money. The 2nd floor garden restaurant had very superior food, well prepared in pleasant surroundings. The room itself had a glorious view. But tjree things ruined an outstanding visit: one of the electrical outlets on the desk was not working so that I had to unplug the lamp (or the coffee pot) to power my laptop, 2) the bed was a torture rack--mattress permanently imprinted/warped on one side; and 3) the maid removed all the soaps in the bathroom after they were opened INCLUDING a bar of prescription soap that I stupidly left in the shower soap dish. But these were minor irritation in an otherwise beautiful room that was well worth the expense.

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
Had I been inclined to shop, I was was only a couple of blocks from Union Square (Macy's, etc.) And there were many specialty shops in the neighborhoos. Also, close to a BART station and taxis plentiful at the front door, which helps in a place so prone to rains. : )

Great weekend City visit stay
My husband and I went into The City for a weekend of museum visiting. When we got there they gave us a room (it had to be an upgrade because of the lateness of the hour) that was huge, clean and extraordinarily comfortable. It was far more than expected and started our stay off with a zing. We could not have been happier with the accommodation! We have already recommended you to many just by telling them about our weekend.

Good hotel & location
Marriott Downtown is very well located in the downtown shopping district, a $35 cab ride from the airport and $10 from Ghirardelli Square. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the counter staff were very polite and helpful. We made good use of the concierge, they were extremely helpful. I would stay here again.

My review of San Francisco Marriott
The room was very spacious and comfortable. A nice desk area to place my laptop and work. The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows and a down comforter. Room included a newer flat screen television with many channels to choose from.

Very Comfortable
San Francisco Marriot was just what we needed two new moms on a weekend getaway from babies and husbands. the hotel was right in the middle of the sights we wanted to see and a quick affordable bus ride to any where else. The rooms were great, big closet, flat screen tv, big bathroom, the most comfortable beds and best nights sleep we have had in 4 months. Check in was easy, we got a room right away even earlier then expected. We would stay again.

Great for a mini vacation
We wanted to take a mini vacation over a 3-day week end in San Francisco, but our criteria for choosing a four star hotel is location, location, location (without driving). This hotel truely is located in the center of shopping area, restaurants, China Town, museums, various activities all within walking distance. We took street car located at the corner of the hotel to Fisherman's Warf. The hotel is very comfortable, amenities are very satisfactory. I will recommend to others and might be back again someday.

Wonderful hotel in San Francisco
The San Francisco Marriott is a beautiful hotel. Our room was spacious and lovely with one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on in a hotel. The Starbucks on site was a definite plus! The hotel was easy to find, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and everything was very clean and well maintained. The view of the city from the lounge on the 39th floor was absolutely breathtaking. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Sightseeing tip:
Short drive from hotel
Take one of the trolley or double decker bus tours of the city when first arriving. It gives one a wonderful overview of the entire city after which one can decide what sites to explore further. Be sure to go to the top of streets overlooking the Bay for spectacular views. Lombard Street is also a must--beautiful and fun.

good location
Marriott SF was very nice with a good location. We were checked in earlier too and all staff very personable and friendly. The room was large and the bathroom was spacious enough. They have an express to upper rooms which was good planning. The negative is the cost of valet parking ( only type of parking at this hotel) which is $55 plus tips so they recommended us to park in public parking one block over on 3rd street for only $20 for 24 hours. This is a good location for downtown shopping, Westfield Mall, Metreon, and Chinatown.
