Quiet and Professional

This place was great right from check in. I got a huge corner single king bedroom, that was made perfectly clean and put in order everyday by the cleaning staff. The hotel seemed pretty quiet when I was here, but it wasn't a busy travel season here so I wasn't expecting it to be jam packed. The pool/hot tub area was really nice, with plenty of extra towels, and very clean and comfortable. The bar on the 39th floor does have some amazing views, and the corner bar down on the street also had a decent vibe to it.

Beautiful hotel in GREAT location

I would definitely stay at this hotel again! Great location, able to walk to many destinations in the city and the BART and MUNI were very just around the corner for the places we couldn't walk to. Beautiful view of the city on the 39th floor View Restaurant where one can get appetizers and drinks. I decided not to drive to San Francisco as parking is difficult and very expensive. Paying a parking fee of $55 for this hotel was out of the question for us but it turned out we didn't need a car while staying here. We even walked to AT&T Park but we could have taken muni and been dropped off in front of it.

The good, the bad, but mostly good!

Found the Marriott online, and selected the hotel based on the reviews. I was not disappointed. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location of the hotel was excellent. It was within walking distance of many stores and restaurants. Also very close to the cable cars, which we used to go to the Wharf. The only downside is the price for parking, but that it is pretty much the same in all of San Francisco.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

If staying at the Marriott and planning on visiting Alcatraz, take one of the cabs waiting right outside of the hotel. It is much more convenient and cheaper than driving yourself there.

Friendly staff

Great facility and very helpful and friendly staff. So often, you find a staff who is doing you a favor to rent you a room. Not the case here. Great fitness facility and great location for a metro area & Downtown. If you want to go to other areas then great mass transit is very close. Downside: A bit noisy from other rooms...thin walls?

So so hotel experience

I am a local. I expect good service living here in SF. The bellhops and most of the valet were great. The front desk was hit and miss. I joined my family from the East Coast and stayed in a separate room with a friend from Southern California. We had a few kids, total. Prior to check-in there was no way to reach a live human being at the actual hotel. We tried for adjoining rooms but they only consist of a king room adjoining to a double room. This is very impractical. We tried for a suite (a.k.a. a larger room) but they were only with 1 king bed. The noise factor > the local fire department was nearby but I thought on the 22nd floor it would not be too bad, I was wrong. The east-side room was really noise, the west-side room across the hall was only mildly noisy. I did not see the pool, but one in my group did and said it was sort of smelly. The location, as long as you like being near the tourist action was very good and appropriate for that type of stay.

NIce...very nice

Was there for New Years..staying 2 nights..Bellman..hotel was very cool and accomidating.. There was a cooncierge..female at the hotel with a bad attitude... I was not liking her suggestion to take the " BART" as a party in our group has claustrophobia..and she rolled her eyes...Not cool..The other 2 concierges were helpful...Great mexican restaurant next door to hotel called TROPISUENO...authentic guacamole and salsa and amazing food... Lots of vagrants and homeless people around...Be ready..
