Parc 55 Wyndham San Francisco - Union Square

My fiancee and I just spent 4 nights at the Parc 55 while on vacation in San Francisco and we were very pleased. The location is around the corner from Union Square and Market Street as well as the Powell/Mason cable car line. Fabulous shopping and iconic restaurants (John's Grill, Lefty O'Douls) are only steps away and we were able to walk to destinations on Nob Hill, China Town and the Financial District within 15 minutes. The hotel structure is an example of 70's organic architecture and has been extensively modernized inside. The lobby and reception area are attractive and the rooms are clean and updated. The bed and sheets were very comfortable and we didn't hear any noise at night from our neighbors on the 14th floor - only the sounds of the city below. The view from our window was a dramatic city skyline and I appreciated the black out curtains and the window vent. The front desk receptionist assisted us in finding a room on a higher floor and was very friendly, as was the housekeeping staff. We would stay at the Parc 55 again. It's a good hotel for a business or vacation stay in the heart of San Francisco.

The hotel was perfect. We wanted to be in the heart of the city and we definitely were. Very central and the staff were excellent. We got an upgrade on checkin and had wonderful views from our room. I recommend the hotel as a great place to stay to explore the city.

The Parc 55 Wyndham is a real 4 star hotel; great service, good amenities, lovely room. However, the location, right off Union Square, is not so lovely. The homeless folk, of whom there are many, wait outside the hotel door to panhandle, ask for money and/or cigarettes and although they are not hostile when you say "no", it is still unpleasant when you are on vacation. I would never stay at any Union Square hotel again in San Francisco. Sorry!

We loved the location of this hotel. The décor is very nice and the rooms are comfortable. However, BEWARE of the $50 valet parking! Other than that, the hotel was great!

This hotel was nice and in a great location, but the food was very overpriced for the value. We paid $26 per person for a breakfast buffet that was not very good. Also, our room didn't have a mini fridge which was a hassle. Also we weren't very impressed with the concierge. We wanted to go see Alcatraz and they told us it was sold out, but when we went to the pier, there were tickets. Further we asked for a recommendation for a romantic restaurant to celebrate our 1-year Anniversary and they sent us to Morton's, a chain. We could have eaten there back home. Otherwise it was a good stay. Don't eat at the hotel and you'll be just fine. Lots of restaurants in the area.

This was our first trip to San Fran. We have to say that this was one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. Check in was easy. I believe DJ was the gentleman who checked us in. He was extremely pleasant and extremely helpful. We were upgraded to a jr. suite which was great. This hotel was perfect location to restaurants and bars. Its conveniently located across the street from BART. We would definitely be staying here again our next trip to San Fran.

The hotel is essentially in the heart of Union Square. Shopping, cable cars, and restaurants are all very close. The hotel room is decently sized and staff members are very friendly. Only knock on this hotel is the WiFi charge and overnight parking price. I don't recall what the Wifi charge was but the overnight parking comes out to $50! There is a parking lot on Mason, 2 blocks away, where you pay $25 if you leave by 9am. However, there is plenty of sight seeing you can do, so leaving at 9am is doable. One of our favorite things was bike riding over the golden gate bridge and hanging out in Sausalito for the day.

Nothing negative except the peddlers that are always outside the hotel asking for money or food. I would go out early for a smoke & coffee and I couldn't even enjoy that because they would always be bothering me. I wish they had hotel personnel that would shoo them away.

Overall a great experience! Husband and I stayed there for a weekend getaway and the location was perfect. We took the BART system straight from the SFO airport and got off at Powell St, which is right across the street from the hotel. Amazing shopping and restaurants are close by and easy access to the cable cars to get to Fisherman's Warf. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The ONLY complaint I have about the room is that I could hear the neighbor next door sneeze in the morning. Not sure if the walls were extra thin or if this man was just extremely loud! If you are looking to sleep in late (I'm talking about 9am or later), then maybe not the place for you. Even with my 8am sneeze wake-up call, I would stay hear again.

We enjoyed staying downtown with easy access to trasportation and attraction spots.
