Hidden gem off the beaten track
Best described as a sort of boho-luxe style, the secluded Palomar San Francisco, a Kimpton Hotel occupies the top five floors of a beautiful historic building set two blocks away from Union Square. The hotel decor is warm and inviting, with red accents, based loosely on the Art Deco style of the 1930s. The Palomar San Francisco has plenty of customer-pleasing features, from the fashionable Fifth Floor Restaurant & Lounge, to fitness and spa facilities. Pets are welcome, and a complimentary Town Car service transports guests to the Financial District.
3 Reasons To Stay:
- Cozy modern style in downtown SoMa
- Excellent fitness and dining options
- Pets get to stay here, too

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
Market St. has many shops to keep you occupied if the weather in SF gets rainy. Otherwise, it's a trolley ride from the ferry terminal that has wonderful culinary shops and restaurants, also farmer's markets on Saturdays.

Great Location
The location was wonderful. We could walk to most locations. The Hotel resturant was the best ever. The staff was very nice...not the best at giving directions, but we did find some great lunch spots in the process.

Very hip and relaxed -- and a great location
We were happy to return tot he Palomar Hotel in San Fran. Despite the horrible weather we had, the city needed rain and the staff and amenities were very good. I hope to go back in the summer!

Nice Location and hotel
Palomar is right in the heart of Market street and just blocks of fancy shopping and restaurants. Westfield Mall is next door and quite nice. We love the free wine reception and friendly staff. Hotel restaurant was nice but EXPENSIVE, especially for breakfast. There are tons of bistros, cafes, and local restaurants like "mel's diner", one block away, where you can get breakfast.

Beautiful boutique hotel
We chose this hotel for its great location, the quality of the rooms, and the friendliness of their staff. They really take care of you here! The double room we stayed in was on the 7th floor with a view of Market St. It was surprisingly quiet! There's plenty of room in the closet, a spacious bathroom, and the flat screen TV and DVD player worked fine. We had an excellent stay and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The location is unbeatable. We took BART from the airport and the Hotel is right on the doorstep of the Market St. station. The F-line street car has a stop along the street in front of the hotel and the cable car turnaround is very close too. Taxis were in abundance around the area.

Couldn't ask for anything more
I have to say this was one of the best experiences I had at a hotel. First, the staff was super friendly and polite. The staff at the desk were very helpful with suggestions for dining and things to do and telling you how to get around San Francisco.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Go to House of Nanking on Kearny St. in Chinatown. I had the best Hot & Sour Soup I've ever had. Also, try the Sesame Chicken. It was delicious and served with sliced sweet potatoes in a barbecue sauce. The food was excellent. Please note, that they will seat you at a table with other people if you are by yourself or with a small group.

Great staff, really nice hotel
Very pleasant stay with super helpful and friendly staff. The hotel itself is nicely designed with spacious (for SF!) rooms. Wine hour is a nice touch. Fitness facilities could be expanded upon a bit.
