Adventure central
Getting there is super easy, we jump on the bart rail and in fifteen minutes your at the montgomery staion from there its a short four block walk to the the hotel. The hotel is perfectly located at the cusp of union square, China town, and the financial district. Little Italy and the embarcadero farmers market and water front are just a ten minute walk away. The hotel as you can see by the five stars I gave across the board has all any traveler would need, and it is a LEED certified "green"hotel so you can feel good about your stay! This was our second stay at this hotel and our first stay was perfict as well. we did have one issue, when we checked into our room we turned on the tv which functioned for a few minutes the made a pop noise and quit functioning. Maintenance arrived within minutes and had a quick look and determined it was toast, the maintenance man apologized profusely "like it was his fault the tv had broken" he immediately called the front desk and determined that there was an upgraded suite available on the same floor, he then personally moved our luggage to the suite while continuing to apologize. If they have the maintenance man empowered to take such great care of there guests, it is in this travelers opinion that they have customer service down to a tee! Great work Orchard Garden staff!!!

Do not rent a car when traveling to San Francisco it will hinder not help on your trip. I made the mistake once. Walking or Taxis are the only way to go.

East Coaster
Eco-friendly, and cool design
Loved the ecofriendly nature of the hotel. I don't have much experience with SF hotels, but I would guess many of them have this theme. Appropriately spacious rooms, and very nice comfy design. Cool sliding door for the bathroom. Nice to have turndown service in the evenings. Desk was a bit cluttered with lots of things (mini bar, phone, lamp, etc), but still functional. Nice bonus: a sleep book/cd in the room (not for taking home) to help you drift off into a peaceful slumber.

Orchard Garden
The hotel was perfectly sufficient. It could have used an additional mini fridge (the one in the room was used as the mini bar). Other than that it was a nice eco-friendly room.

La Boulangerie I believe. Great food at low cost. Avoid La Presse at the corner at all costs. Found the wait staff to be rude.

Nicely built green concious hotel
The room was quite nice, everything looked fairly new and very clean. The staff at the reception was a bit rude when I asked for a breakfast place recommendation, until the doorman stepped in and pushed the rude receptionist aside to actually help the customer.

The cafe accross the street plays actual French music from the 80's and serves an authentic French menu (I am reviewing this as a french-native).

Fine a place to stay for a day
The room was clean and the staff were very nice and professional. Room service menu was limited but it was delicious. The television was not functioning well. The box for watching movies was broken and there were no maintenance crew to fix it. Disappointing in that regard. The room was blocked by another section of the builiding with the view was that of the rooftop of another building. Rather disappointing. There was only one chair in the room and no tables. I had to have my room service dinner on the bed.

Excellent Green (Sustainable) Hotel
The Orchard Garden is a new construction, compared to the Orchard proper, which is refurbished. I have not stayed at the latter, but this is my second stay at the Orchard Garden. The only problem travelers might encounter is that the desk in the room does not have Ethernet, only Wi-Fi, and lies right below the TV (which I did not use). In a room with two full beds, the "lounge" chair is small, but the beds themselves are large and comfortable. The night stand has an iPod (or iPhone) dock. There are some improvements to sustainability that could be made (e.g. shampoo and soap dispensers in the shower, more recycling types, less frequent towel changes) but overall there is strong commitment to sustainability. I should mention that like most hotels in this area, it takes about 15 minutes for the valet to retrieve ones car, so call ahead!

Awsome overnight stay
The hotel was strategically located in the heart of the financial district. Received a friendly and helpful welcome. Got valet parking. The room was very clean, spacious and quiet. Really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I will be back in April again no doubt about it.

Review Orchard hotel San Francisco
We spent 3 nights in the Orchard hotel. It's location is perfect. Close to the BART and cable car. On the corner you find the enterance to China town...perfect. Staff was very nice and rooms were very clean. Good price for such quality!!!

Hotel a Real Gem In San Francisco
This 10 story hotel is in a great central location, within (and within steps of) downtown shopping, Chinatown, the Financial District, and the Embarcadero waterfront. It is the City's greenest high-end hotel, with lovely contemporary decor, excellent service all around, and valet parking. A fan of both gourmet and healthy cuisine, I was thrilled to enjoy a scrumptious yet healthy breakfast in their charming restaurant just off the lobby. My only complaint was that the windows do not open (air conditioning only), but otherwise the hotel was delightful.
